I would like breeders opinions on what you consider to be breedworthy titles that a puppy buyer can achieve on one of your pups in order for you to change limited registration to full so that the dog can be bred. If you could also say why you feel such a title, in your opinion, justifies this title a breedworthy title and worthy of the dog being able to be bred, that would be appreciated.
This is just something I have been curious abuot for a while and remember these are just different breeder opinions and ONLY OPINIONS. Hopefully this thread wont turn ugly and everyone will be respectful of all opinions that may be stated. This is not intended to turn into arguements between each other.
It is only human nature to disagree but please dont use this thread to attack anyone.
Please feel free to PM me if you'd rather not post on the messageboard.
Thanks for all who reply!

For myself, I prefer to breed a dog who is KKL. However, I will lift a limited registration for someone who acheives and kind of performance title (rally, obedience, agility, tracking) or noteable certification (detection, SAR), has been certified OFA hips/elbows, SG conformation rating, and will agree to only breed the dog to another titled, certified dog. Of course the last part comes down to how good someone's word is, but after putting some effort into their own dog, I think it's safe to say said person now realizes the value of training. These requirements will at least ensure a dog who is sound of body and mind is being bred.
I'm sure some of my fellow breeders do not agree with my somewhat liberal stance on what constitutes a title, but after all, the buyer paid for the dog and put effort into it, it is their dog. I would rather encourage someone into the world of training their GSD with something small like a CD or TD, at first the SV system can be overwhelming and turn someone off completely.
