Since so many people use the database by linking their pedigrees directly to  PDB, many people may not be aware that the information is user-submitted and subject to falsification, and we have seen a lot of that.  I know folks who use the site regularly know that but.............

Is there any way, or would it be of value, to put a small disclaimer at the header to each pedigree such as

Information on each dog is submitted using the honor system and not verified. If you are making purchasing or breeding decisions regarding this dog, you may want to verify that the information listed is correct by requesting supporting documentation.

Check your listings frequently.

??????
Not sure if you recommend checking your own dogs - I do that but

I am just talking about something for those people where a breeder lists a dog for sale, puts the parents on PDB and a link on their web page and  the buyer may not know that the breeder could have put false hip ratings, titles, etc  on their own dogs.. They have never entered a dog or never been on this site before they come here through a link.

A recent example was where that fellow in California put SV hip ratings on his American puppies and was called on it.

I know it is caveat emptor, but some people may look at an official looking site like this and may assume the information is always accurate.

Nancy,
You may only change your own dogs pedigree.
If you screw with someone else's you'll be in deep do do.
All changes are logged.
You can cross check progeny of parents with offspring.
Still people do damage other peoples pedigrees sometimes, its happened before.
Travel at your own risk.

All I am talking about is that when people pull up a pedigree, a warning would be nice because the OWNER of a dog may post false hip scores etc. and people not familar with the site may not know to ask for the correct documentation; they may assume its presence on this site means it is accurate.

Nothing more nothing less.

Nothing on the internet should be considered accurate.
You have to do a little work to find the accurate information through the different organizations.
No body said it was fair.
You'd be a fool to totally trust what you find online.
One is born every minute.....lol

I know that ................................
I just thought it would be nice for people who don't.

I understand, just pointing out no matter what the warning label says fools are still fools and need to take responsibility for their own foolishness.

Like the government making the cigarette companies put bigger letters on their warning labels.
Maybe Oli will add to his disclaimers, but really, who will read them.

Its just my frustration with the human race.
