This area is a wildlife preserve not far from my house. It is on the flyway for Canadian Geese, Pelicans, several Herons, ducks, redwing blackbirds and other cuties that I have no idea what they are. Sometimes there are Hawks doing a little hunting. This is not far from San Francisco Bay and the water is brackish.
This was probably the longest walk that little Maggie has ever been on and she just wanted more. She has some shaved areas from surgery to remove a cancer and some fatty tumors. The future looks good for Maggie.

Good Guess Shelley, but, it is behind a shopping center on Hwy 101 and is near the where the Novato Creek empties into the San Francisco Bay . My house is on the lower ridge that you can see behind the bridge in the ninth picture down. In the eighth picture you can see the backside of Costco and Target. The wetlands was created by a system of levees damning parts of the creek. The shopping center paid for it to get permission to build. There are only two top secret tricky ways to get in there without hip boots or waders. Once you are in there it feels like you are in the wilderness when you are actually behind a suburban shopping center and only 25 minutes from San Francisco.
You are so right Moons, and Pharaoh and I are about to head back there for a 3 1/2 mile jog (slog really) to get some excercise and vitamin D.
Thanks Cee, relaxation is a very good thing. I have been going there daily but jogging makes taking pictures impractical. Since my roommate and her little dog Maggie came along it was the perfect opportunity to take pictures.

You can come visit. There is a very nice guest room. Free room and board and airfare (I have lots of miles) for a little bit of obedience on Pharaoh.

Wow! What a deal!
Actually I am planning on coming out to CA, end summer. I just sent my resume off for a decent job with the Sacramento Bee.
I don't want to be in the East come the first snow this year.
