What has happened to the Database

Up until a few weeks ago I felt compelled to check out the database a number of times a day, now I check it out maybe once and find it boring. Most of the old regular posters that made it interesting seem to be gone, those that discussed relevant things that often had heated discussions are gone also.

One only has to look at the new German Shepherd Topic area, how long has it been up now 2/3 weeks and only 2 pages of mostly boring stuff !!!!!!!!!!!!

I think this site may be in trouble.

Well dogshome9, it seems we have discovered nobody really came here to discuss the dogs. When there were heated arguments about OT discussions, everybody was up in arms and screaming that the board should be about the dogs, everybody came here for information on the dogs. So, now that there is a GSD page, nobody is here because they're all too busy discussing politics on the "general topic" tab. Go figure. Was it ever really about the dogs? Now that some good people are gone, the truth really has come to light. Everybody seems to want to bait and fight. I've given up myself, I'd rather talk about the dogs so I go to other boards, I do check back here periodically but nothing new. To quote Moons: SSDD

I went on this board to find out about a certain breeder and kennel it was always being deleted when that name was mentioned. Was this not a board to talk about the dogs and to find out information so that other people wouldn't go and make the same mistake that I made. What if someone wanted to breed their female to that male not knowing that he produces hip or genetic problems. That is not fair to leave out important information for the GS people that is why I sort of gave up on this board.

Well, I have to agree with Gsdtravels also. I find myself checking out other forums and coming here less and less. I still enjoy the pedigrees and being able to research dogs, the PDB is still great for that. As far as posting on the forums here, I'm pretty much done.

Its a shame. I thought the General Topic forum would attract other dog breed owners to post - people who own labs and collies and other dogs who want to discuss dog related issues, problems, training foods, etc. I thought it would broaden the perspective from the predominant Schutzhund (which doesn't interest me at all) and the primary focus gsd - which is interesting, but not all encompassing to me.

I never thought it would turn into an off topic political bullshit forum. I'm really disappointed that the opportunity has been lost.

You guys amaze me too, just like on the other forum,
A lot of stuff went down a short time back and it definitely effected many members.   Many people did many things.
Things were said and done.
Now the board is slow and boring?     Give people time to get past the upset.
Ask your dog questions, you might be surprised with the response.
Many members wanted this addition and now its a bad idea?    Maybe so, we'll see.

acegs, I disagree this is the perfect place for this post, I'm not interested in all the BS that goes on in the General Topics, I come here because I am interested only in the dogs and at the moment there is very little going on.

This is a GSD forum is it not ?????????
