Krazy Bout K9s

by Krazy Bout K9s on 12 June 2009 - 19:06

I just got a call from some people that bought a GSD puppy from a breeder in Townsend, MT...They took the pup to a vet and it was diagnosed as blind...The people called the breeder to return it and the breeder said no way, you bought it as is....grrrrrrrrr

A neighbor found out and called me, she called the people that bought it said she found a rescue group to take it and they said fine, come and get it, they don't want to look at it another second....GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

She is going to get the pup, and I am going to get it from her about 3 1/2 hours one way again and get it evaluated here....to see if it is really blind....

Sorry, but I had to vent AGAIN!!!!!

I HATE PEOPLE!!!! PRETTY STRONG RIGHT NOW...BUT....
PICS LATER!!!!

I would want a second opinion on the blindness.
I've seen dogs go blind and do ok, but I've never seen one born blind.
You gonna save this one if its blind?
a big responsibility

how many dogs are you up to by now? are you able to find forever homes for them?

I was at the feed store with Hero (8 months old) and the woman wanted to use him as a stud........today! Her bitch has not been hip or elbow tested, titled brucellosis (sp???) tested or have even been to a vet in 2 years........

Of course Hero's hips and elbows have not been tested, he is not titled..........and he's just a puppy!

I thanked her and said "maybe in a few years when this dog is tested, titled. I suggest you do the same." She was pissed!

Some one else at the pet store basically asked the same, and couldn't understand why I wasn't already breeding and selling puppies......I told him that there are plenty of quality German shepherds in foster care right now and adding even more puppies to the world when we don't know whether we'll be in a depression in 12 months is irresponsible.....He too was pissed!

I'm glad that Hero is turning heads, but I'm not sure I like the heads he's turning......these types of people are either ignorant or just plain stupid........

I cannot imagine a 6 week old puppy suddenly going blind...I will evaluate it and go from there...need to get in my hands first...I leave at 4 pm Mountain Standard Time....
Probably euthanize it if in fact for sure blind. Not many people want to take that on...heartless I know, but too many dogs out there right now....otherwise try to fix it...if not too bad...

If that is the case, putting it down is the human thing to do..........and the humane thing to do also.

It takes more heart to do the right thing then the thing that feels good!

Lots of idiots out there SitasMom...
I seem to be dealing with them every day...lately!!!

Had another call from a guy today, wanting a protection puppy for his 4 yr old daughter, because they live at the edge of the forest in the mountains, and they want the dog to chase away the mountain lions, grizzly bears, and wolves that come into their back yard especially since their daughter will be exploring the woods herself in a couple of years...6 YRS OLD BY HERSELF????
What IDIOTS...I said I wouldn't adopt to them, no fence, and not responsible kid owners let alone dogs...!!!!

Where I lived several years back here a dog was killed and eaten by a mountain lion in the peoples back yard....one week later their 5 yr old boy was killed and eaten by the same mountain lion...go figure...you would think they would supervise the kid, especially after their dog was eaten???? They eventually caught the lion and posted it!!!!
I just don't understand some people...

Astro, is he of the famous  "AIRPLANE" ears litter? Doesn't he have a brother with you, too?    LOL

They both look very happy, you are a great foster Mom! Your patience and service is appreciated, by the looks of these two!

Just got a call from the call meeting me partway...the pup is 9 weeks old...sorry...says she is very sweet and the vet said it was not congenital...maybe just starvation and bad food...pretty thin too...probably wormie...
She was getting passed around the office before going to the transport gal...

Hello! I am a new member. I was wondering about the blind pup. Is it a male or female and is he blind? Please don't put him down.
That's like saying if a person is blind that their life isn't worth living. He can love and be loved, enjoying the things we all enjoy with the other senses, like played with, being petted, cuddling and just knowing someone cares enough to be there.
Please let me know what happens.  If it is a male I might be interested in him myself. I live on a farm in Wisconsin. We have a 13 yr old Aussie that my nephew found during a storm about 30 miles from here when it was a little pup. I also had a GS I lost  5 yr ago. He is in a urn on top of my china cabinet and will be buried with me when I go. Some day I will tell you the story of my beloved Snickers.
Please keep me posted about this blind pup.   Keep up the great work. Thank God there are good people like you out there.   Bye4Now   Kay
