Shipping a dog to and back from Germany - Page 1

Has anyone shipped a dog without using a transport service to Germany? 

I am getting conflicting information, but it seems that I need some sort of health certificate done within 24 hours of the flight. 

I understand about the USDA veterinary certificate, the rabies and microchip, but is there anything on the German end that I'm not anticipating?
