This is a link to a clip of "Greta" at 14 weeks, she was sired by one of my males.
This is one of the ways I work on prey drive, although usually in much shorter sessions.

Bobby, anything that excites the pup through movement can be used. Keep it short. Better too short than too long IMO. Find something that works good like in the vid, then when he is really into the game you can introduce other stimuli as a means of conditioning. The cow mooing in the background could have been planned, ( probably wasn't but you get the idea). I think once you start to get the picture you will be able to expand on it.

Instincts are an internal mechanism that pushes the dog into taking action.
You can NOT build THIS, Rank it YES!!
Then stimulate and develop it, but it is totally genetic.

In my reply I was careful to say this is one of the ways I "work" on prey drive not build,as I know people have different ideas on "drives".
I think the important thing and probably what the op was after, was how people stimulate, work on,build, the pups innate instincts/drive.

I was commenting on what Red Sable posted.
"You can build prey drive, but fight drive is genetic, is it not? and rare to boot."
All Drives are genetic, be it PREY DRIVE, PACK DRIVE, CIVIL DRIVE, DEFENSE DRIVE!!!
