If anyone has pictures of sable puppies at birth to adult of the same puppy,  I would love to see them. I am aware that sables change in color until they mature. I just had 2 really dark sable puppies born and was wondering if anyone could shed alittle light on the possible results as an adult. This litter also had two solid blacks, and 2 bi-colors and 1 black and red. I had posted awhile back asking for opinions on color results for this litter. Everyone who responded was so helpful. I know I can look at sites on sables , but how do I know if its the same puppy to adult? Any responses will be greatly appreciated.

Hey Kim,

that is one gorgeous boy. I don't normally care for the sable, but  the black sables are just gorgeous. I love his big head and the presence he has.  Great breeding and Good Luck with him.

It is amazing how much the sables change in just the 1st year.  In answer to your question on how to tell if it is the same dog - unless you raised him from puppy to adulthood it would be pretty hard to know.  You would be wise to tattoo and or microchip the pups if you want to be sure later on down the road.
