I got in a 3 yr old female last year, turned into rescue that is, that came from von Waldberg Kennels...I called them on the phone, left a message, went to their website and emailed them and never received a reply AT ALL...

So they didn't want their dog back....then come to find out the dog has a mast cell tumor in her lymph nodes, mandibular lymphoma...

I spent $1500 in chemo for this dog and then adopted her out to a great home...now the cancer has come back and has been treated again...she is a great and beautiful dog...

Just my 2 cents, I was looking for any info on this site, to see if anyone else had info about them...found this old post dated...Oct. 11, 2008 by Smoothie70.

I used to live up near them and they have a BAD reputation for backing up their contract and for replying if a dog has a problem. They come accross as a good kennel but from what I have heard they are not. I also wanted to use a stud dog of theirs once and called set up a time to meet up with them and once I got their the owner not only was not there but the dog was NOT FOR STUD and then they were trying to sell me another male they had on site. I would not do any dealings with them at all.

As a rescue owner I applaud you for stepping up and trying to make the breeder responsible for the dogs they put out. It really makes me mad that for all breeders who bust their ass to do the right thing, there will always be the ones who dont. Good for you that you posted. I hope the dog fairs well with her treatment. I personally keep a list of breeders who fail to appropriately respond.
For any breeder out there, if a rescue or shelter calls on one of your own pups or dogs, take the dog back. Its sad when the dog has to be put down because you wont step up and be responsible.
