I am just wondering what type of toys people use to start a dog with Narcotic Detection?
Which toys are better for this type of training that doesn't have a lot of scent of their own?
I just started my male and I have been using Kongs, tennis balls and odor imprinting balls. Will be starting with PVC pipe this weekend once I put the holes in the pipe.
He doesn't seem to like the odor imprininting balls but does go crazy for the kongs and tennis balls.
He is reconizing the narcotic odor and not just the odor of the toys. Did a few hides without the toy present in the hide and he indicated well. Just would like different rewards for him so he doesn't get used to the smells of the toys just the narcotics.

I do cadaver and like the PVC tubes - I buy PVC "nipples" that are threaded on each end and have screw on caps to make mine.
I soak in bleach after use [may not have to with NARC]
You need to put out negative tubes as distracters later on in the training just like any other container.
My negative tubes are "virgins" that have not had training material in them.
