I am not writing this to fan flames but it really has gone way over the top. If you want to fight, keep talking politics, keep creating enemies where you came to discuss a thing you have in common with people world-wide, the GSD. I know I have the choice to not read any of it but it's been the only current topic since the pages were split. Oli worked his butt off because people were screaming at him that it was supposed to be about the dogs. So, what happens? He makes a page where other things "OT" can be discussed and it seems nobody was here about the dogs after all! I have my own political views, as does everybody else and nobody will ever completely agree with ANYBODY else's political opinion. I realize politics are important to people and the issues themselves are important but there are venues which would be a much better sounding board. Writing or calling your State Representatives would be a good start, as I'm sure you are all already doing. But, if you allow these issues to take up this much of your life it will only polarize people even more and eventually, with everybody fighting about it, nobody is listening anyway. It serves the opposite of the purpose which was initally meant. People are not going to change their views even if you can be more eloquent in your arguments and the discussion will just become more heated.
I am not posting this to start another war, just wanted to say that you're right and I don't have to view these threads, I won't. It makes me sad. I've experienced more loss in the last year than most people could bear and I'm just not up for much more drama, fighting, intimidation, etc. Consider this more an explanation of my absence, not that I have been a major figure, mind you. I wanted to thank those that I have learned from and even those I have disagreed with here (most which no longer come here either). An argument every now and again can be enlightening and a very good learning experience, I just don't want it for breakfast, lunch and dinner. I'll continue doing what I'm doing with my dog and will share it elsewhere. It was fun while it lasted.
Thanks Oli, it was a valiant effort.

This one is for all other dogs and dog related issues that are not necessarily German Shepherd issues.
IMO, there is no evidence that this was ever meant to be a political or otherwise off dog topic forum.

There are two forums to post to and no one is posting any earth shattering revelations about the German Shepherd breed?
Ask your questions, give your advice, participate, but don't blame anything on others.
Thats just not being honest.
I think Oli did what he had to do when he had to do it. Shit happens.
In short either participate and enjoy or don't be surprised if no one begs you to stay.
Its a nice place.
Moons.

Oli seperated them so that everytime someone serious wants to talk serious they stay on the German shepherd titled forum..like Gustav ...just said he didnt want to post here...His priviledge....even though all of the people here are most of the same people over there...but some breeders and trainers do not want to gab. This is still the German shepherd part of the database....kinda like a big family of german shepherd owners that dont want to always talk shop.....lol
I love the new feature on the PM where you can now delete your messages next week and not immediately and if you get behind you dont spend all day deleting the way it was at first.... I love that new feature..My list got so long I gave up trying to get them deleted...
So now they are all gone but the last week of pms.
Thanks to Oli.
