Of course that is only 1 half of the equation.
I am looking into purchasing a pup, actually sent the deposit so we should soon be a
4 GSD household....How many is too many really :)
Hoping to get a hard working male....but we all no there are no guarantees....even with awesome pedigrees.
BUT you can stack the odds in your favor!
The Bitch also has a fairly impressive pedigree

I absolutely love this male. We have just received a puppy from him. He came out of the box ready to go. Wonderful temperment and a great personality. So far he shows solid nerve and a very drivy nature about him. He seems to be afraid of nothing. Feel free to e-mail me at schlagkraftgsd@yahoo.com for futher questions...

i love the appearance and pedigree of bomber, however...........
you must also keep in mind that he will only be half the pedigree of your puppy.
in terms of inheritability, very often the dam's sire is dominant in producing
temperament in the pups. in this case, you are looking at ernst - well known
for his aggression and comes by it honestly thru his sire, lewis. lewis, a very
aggressive dog appears twice on the dam's pedigree and mink, known for aggression
and hard-headedness appears 3 times on her pedigree. i don't mean to be picky,
but this is something you need to consider. if you are prepared to deal with this sort
of dog, go for it. maybe you have had experience with such, but i doubt it since you
are asking for "insight." there is hardly a week that goes by that someone isn't asking
for advice, on this board, in dealing with problems from an overly aggressive dog. i
would not expect dogs from this breeding to be cuddle bugs.another thing you need to be
aware of, especially if you have other dogs, is that mink also passes on a considerable
amount of dog on dog aggression. how do i know? 3 of my 8 dogs have mink and i
deal with it on a daily basis.

We have Nikko who is line breed alll over lewis and mink and at 8 is still a handfull every day.
We also have an 18 month old Karthago dog which is absolutely insane...and has a tremendous amount of drive...
loves to work and does not ever seem to tire.
So I know what I am in for and have what I think are the tools I need to move forward to compete :)
Of course I also know there are a lot of factors and genes dont make the dog entirely it is a crap shoot.
Thanks all....

I've also been around the sire who was purchased from Leerburg kennel, a Mink/Steffi grandson and he is also good around other people.
alot of it is how the dogs are raised and socialized. I am sure there are some pretty nasty Mink/Lewis dogs out there, but I just haven't been around any. the only negative thing I can comment about my Mink line dogs, they can be screamers.
