kudos and congratulattions for a great show. The weather blessed us with a very nice day. The honable judge Hans Peter Fetten did a great job of evaluating the dogs presented and gave very clear critiques of the dogs. This was a great show with a very fair judge. There was a noticible absence of the "big" kennels but that was expected because this judge is rumored not to give away placements because of name. Congratulations to Schaferhund Schutzhund Club on their show and we wish all the organization clubs could put on such a non political CLASS ACT. Watch the web site for results.

I had a bal! I always feel SO WELCOME at SSC. Hans Peter was his usual charming self, dead-on accurate in this critiques and a super sportsman in his own right. Tom's helper work was dead-on with consistent work and excelent sleeve presentation (one of Auntie Shelley's most common gripes, but not this time! :-)

I was particularly impressed with Bob Frampton's new Zamp Thermados son, Tex vom Walzer Ursprung, who earned his lifetime KK1 sunday. Bob has a 12 week old son from Tex (Gunnar).  Amazing temerament, rock-solid nerves all wrapped up in a beautiful puppy. Bob is doing a great job getting him started off right. :-D Everyone who sees him WANTS him, but Bob ain't budging.

Thanks for hosting another fine event. Its a bitch getting to Long Island sometimes, but WELL worth the trip!
See ya'll next time.

"There was a noticible absence of the "big" kennels but that was expected because this judge is rumored not to give away placements because of name." - That is the ONLY way the judging should be done. I like the guy already, even I never met him in my life. The only way to separate subpar and crap from good.

If my brother were a judge and he cut me and the dog slack cause we're "bros", I'd punch him in the face as we would be doing a disservice to everyone involved.

Fair and consistent judging is the best judging.

Fetten is one of the fairest judges I have ever had the pleasure to meet. He also has an EXCELLENT knowledge and appreciation of working ability.

He CANNOT be bought. He's everybody's friend before and after the show, (refuses to look at a catalog till after its over!) but in the ring and on the protection field for the breed survey, he's all business. He would never penalize dogs for being gray, bloodlines, politics, nothing. He DOES like to see a good dog do its stuff in the work, takes both the dog's structure and its work (also temperament) into consideration heavily when making decisions in the Korung. Can't ask for more than that...

The Shaferhund SchH club always does a great job at their shows and trials.  Bob is very gracious and their training field is absolutely gorgeous.   One of the nicest places to train that I've ever been too.

I missed this show... was too tired to make the long drive to Long Island.

Loved their April trial ... great field and really nice folks.

Bob Frampton has a funny side to him... cracks one liners all the time...

Wish they weren't so far. It took me only 3.5 hrs to make it from Vienna, VA to the Lincoln Tunnel and then from there it took me 4.5 hours to travel 54 miles.....

yes, I quite injoyed going out to Schaferhund for my breed surveys last September.   And Bob has a great eye, he though that my female would V the following week under Scheld and she did!

Ravi that sounds about right to get out to Long Island!

Unless you leave ungodly early and even then you never know!   When there's no traffic I can make it in an hour and a half, but with traffic, usually getting home, it can take up to 4.   And it's really not all that far distance wise.

We are going to see Cirque de Soleil on Randall's Island tomorrow and really have NO CLUE what time to leave, we will be traveling in rush hour and will have to deal with the Cross Bronx Expressway!  Anyone who has every traveled that road, knows how much fun that is!
