The Passing Of A Breed Connoisseur
I never knew Jane though I wish I had.I can only think of her as a very knowledgeable lady who bred Saber V Steffen Haus ,a dog in the ancestries of many good dogs I have have shown.I believe her dogs are behind quite a few of the producing lines in Germany like Vallendererhohe and Bastillie to name a few.Through Saber these dogs inherited good masculinity in the males and the line will go on through Saber's grandsons Bravos V Steffen Haus(V1) and Yukon V D Bastillie(VA7) with another hopeful being Pango V Burg Reichenstein(SG5).From my understanding Jane left Germany a while ago but I am sure she left something to be remembered for as her contribution to the breed.People come and go but their contribution to this wonderful breed is what they will be remembered for.

Rest in Peace Jane

I only spoke with Jane  a couple of times at the Sieger show , but she struck me as a very nice lady, and obviously very knowledgeable in our breed, i am sure she will be missed, and i offer my condolences to her family.

I posted this last night elsewhere. I thought it was worth posting here.

As I write this I am using one hand. Basically hunt and pecking the keyboard. I meet Jane about 3.5 years ago over the phone. " Hey Jane I have this dog Yacco and I think he's pretty cool. He just won Vice Sieger in his class at NASS." She had no idea who the heck I was and why I called. "Yacco who?'" Well I went on to tell her that my boy was a son of her VA Hexe. This was Hexe's last litter. She became much more excited to speak and did she ever. We spoke for about an hour. At this time I had no idea how instrumental she was to the breed. To me it was just lady enjoying a good conversation on dogs. This was our first and last phone call. I would email with the progress on Yacco. I'm not even sure if she got the messages.
So as I am sitting here I am holding a 2.5 week old puppy that has the blood from her Hexe, Saber and Xtra Staffen Haus. Without her hard work this litter would not be here.

Jane,
God Bless and May You Rest in Peace.

Mike
