The end of a LEGEND.
Jane's footsteps would be very hard to fill.
God Bless her and keep her soul.
I didn't know her personally, but by reputation.
I can only imagine how many dogs met her at the Bridge!
Very Respectfully,
Shelley Strohl

Wow. Such a loss for the GSD community in this country. I am blessed to have a VA Hexe Steffenhaus granddaughter. She will be missed and remembered by many.

Note:
We lose a few GREAT Old-timers every year.
WHO will be around to make sure their lives, the breed and sport they loved and dedicated THIER lives to, will go on?
...and HOW it will go on IF it survives?
Step up! ...and step up NOW.
Something to think about.

Sad to hear of her passing. I know she's been ill for a while.
We know Jane more for her beautiful Morgan horses. My family has Morgans too so Jane was in our lives during the show circuit a lot during the late 80's and 90's.
My condolences to her friends and family.

What sad news. My sincere condolences to her family and friends. I have a son of V1 Bravos vom Steffen Haus (the younger one, a grandson of V Saber vom Steffen Haus) and he's the best dog I've ever had.

This marks the passing of another icon in the breed.
There is no one who can fill those shoes.
My condolences to all her family and friends.
Sad, sad day...

I hope the GSDCA-WDA does something to honor Jane's life at the NASS.
Perhaps a perpetual award?

My condolences to her family at this difficult time.
Jane prompty answered a letter I sent her some years ago, inquiring about her puppies, and for a good many years after that, I received a Christmas card from Steffanhaus, even though I never did purchase a dog from them. She seemed very kind, though I never met her, and I am sad to hear of her passing.
