I need some info guys. I have a puppy with some problems. The puppy has hip problems and the ears do not go up now she is almost 7 months old. The ears are nowhere near ready to go up. A friend of mine is a breeder here and has looked at her and said the ears will never go up. Now I contacted the breeder and he has been pretty cold. Instead of trying to find a peaceful solution he has assumed the role of telling me if I have a problem let the Breed Warden of the SV in on it. Now originally the breeder had come recommended from a friend in Atlanta. I have imported several German Shepherds and have never ever dealt with anything like this. Once I had a dog with questionable nerves but never health problems and soft ears.

My question is this:

What will the breed warden be able to do for me if anything. I understand it is Reinhardt Meyer I believe.

I have his phone number and email address, has anyone ever contacted him over puppy issues with a breeder and is he who I should be turning to. I just want this situation solved. friedhelm Bark is not making this situation any easier and his pride is getting in his way of common sense. Thank you for any info...

Did you have a contract with the breeder in which health or hip guarantees are discussed?

I don't know what the SV Breed Warden can do to help resolve this situation because I don't really what his responsibilities are. For sure I would send along digital hip X-rays and a diagnostic summary from the vet as well as a copy of the sales contract IF it discusses hip gurantees. If it doesn't you'll have a hard time standing on priciples from this far away, IMO.

Do you have a WRITTEN GUARENTEE? If not, you may be out of luck.

The contract is everything.  I don't know what the SV breed warden can do for you, other than perhaps examine the pup and give his opinion. Your contract is the document that is going to determine who is responsible for what.
