all dogs have to be vet checked before they fly, whether they are sold or just flying with their owners.  i have to scratch my head on this a bit.  if wayne was truly selling a bunch of sick dogs, how's he getting them vet clearance?  i can see how a few exposed dogs might slip thru, but any showing signs of illness would not get their flying papers.

Here in my area there's a guy who's friends with a vet and has a florida veterinary book that's already signed so he can use them without the dog even being seen.

he should be reported, that is bad on all ends for everyone involved, if I have to pay my money and take the time to go to a vet, so should he. If you let that one go, you are as wrong as he is. I know a guy who has one of the best working dog kennels in the country and is also close friends with his vet, and he always does the right thing and takes the dogs in to be examined.

If I knew who the vet was, I would.  The guy prouds himself on being a USDA kennel.  I've had people come to me crying after their dog died of some genetic issue at less than a year of age.  Sad, really.

sorry, I wasn't attacking you or anyhting, but that is just crazy, all they would have to do is look on the health certificate and you could find out all the info they wanted on this vet. The buyer gets a copy.

There are always ways to get around the law, and plenty of people who are more than willing to use them.

I know of even reputable breeders who have such a relationship with their vet that they also have a whole pad of those health clearance forms that the vet has signed.   Note that I said "reputable."  To my knowledge, none of them has ever shipped a sick or injured dog, never had any "epidemics" of anything, etc.

I am not sure what you mean by "reputable".
Doesn't "reputable"  imply that they do things by the book?
Doesn't it mean that they are more interested in the well being of the pups they produce as opposed to saving $45-$80 on an office visit to their vet??
I would think that it means not breaking the law, and, being honest and upfront with their clients.

Oh well, just another F...... breeder!!!
