I got an e-mail from GSP and thought I would pass the information along to those who would be interested.

Dear German Shepherd enthusiasts,

A 501(c)3 non profit organizations has just sent German Shepherd Planet a letter notifying them that Nascar drivers Tony Stewart and Greg Biffle are helping Vest 'N P.D.P.

What can a $10 investment do for you?

Not only will it give you the opportunity to help provide bullet-and-knife-resistant vests for K9 officers throughout the United States, but also the chance to win a potential cash prize valued at twenty-five percent (25%) of the total monies raised!

With the help of your $10 donation today, www.vest4k9.com, in collaboration with NASCAR drivers Tony Stewart and Greg Biffle, will raise funds to vest 192 K9 officers working in 32 states. And 25 percent of all cash raised will be raffled off to one lucky donor. So, the more money donated, the more you could win!

To learn more about Vest ‘N P.D.P. visit Susie Jean’s Web site at www.vestnpdp.com

To buy a $10 ticket & to learn more go to their website that was designed for this specific event www.vest4k9.com

Im there, love my drivers and dogs. The dogs make out in the deal and we get to spend the weekend watching the race. Who could complain?

It would be better if one of them WON the race, then it would really be great. :o)  My boyfriend loves Tony Stewart even has an official Tony Stewart orange racing truck #3 of only 40 madeand signed by Tony himself!!!!  He's Big Fan of  of NASCAR and my 3 GSD'S.  He says the next one needs to be a male but MUST be left intact!!!  He's all about the things hanging from behind.  Right now it's only him and his English Bulldog everything else is female except for my neutered male beagle.  Women rule in this house, what can I say. :o)

I like it all except about the 25 percent part going back to donors. IF you really want to help, don't accept the 25% cash. I just checked their form 990 EZ for the year 2007. They only took in 38K and had a program deficit of $9800. No compensation is received by their two officers. In 2007 they provided 80 police dogs with bullet/stab proof vests across the country in 15 states.

Sounds like a great cause. Just so you know, in case you didn't, If you win and take the cash, you have to deduct that amount from your donation for goods received.

Thanks for bringing this charity to my attention. I might be able to do some good here.
