jeppah discovered what great fun water is, and now our dd has a tireless playmate - jeppah will actually completely submerge his head.  first time he saw the pool full of water he would not go in at all 2nd time he's a "swimming fool" patience without pressure seems to work well with him

and for night time after he's worn everyone else out he entertains himself with flying tug toys

He looks like he's having loads of fun. Good for you and thanks for sharing. Maybe that will work for me.

I can't wait until it's warm enough here to get a kiddie pool for Echo.  She may or may not like the water in a pool but she loves biting at it when I am pouring it into her bowl.  I have a feeling she will go crazy about it.  Great pix of pool and flying tugs.

Awww.  He does look like he's having fun!  Addie, my shepherd, absolutly loves water.  Everyone I know thinks its strange that a German Shepherd likes water.

Here are a few pictures at a friend of mine's house.

She chewed up her first kiddie pool this past winter, so I haven't gotten another for her yet.

well the weather reports here are calling for the mid 90's all week  so the pool will be a daily event.

my first gsd was an over-sized coated sable - so big and scary to the uninitiated - and one day when he was about 15 months old a roommate left the gate open and he followed the mailman on his route (though he was none too please but sancho was sure everyone loved him as much as i did); until they came to a house with a new kiddie pool and lots of blow-up toys. when he saw this he dove straight in the pool and proceeded to pop each toy.  by the time i got there he was gone but the woman - mother of 2 toddlers - was very nice about it, said she thought he was scary but when she watched how much fun he was having she realized he wasn't

i finally caught up with him at the elementary school playground where he was playing with the kids at recess - i called him and i got him in the back of the truck just as animal control showed (i had crossed path with them earlier so the race was on) anyway it all worked out - i went back and paid the woman for the destruction he caused (gave her enough so she would have a fond memory of the event).  but that dog loved the water, you could throw rocks in a river and he would go completely under to retrieve them - great fun for all

great picts btw jeppah is still working out the logistics of hose play - loves to bite the water but hates getting water up his nose.  yesterday my dh was using the pressure washer and we had to bring jeppah in because he kept trying to bite it - still too young to make sensible choice he also loves the broom if you hold him back he barks and lunges like he was sch training - lol - dog are so entertaining!

our pool is a hard molded plastic; it even has a little slide (which has been fun to roll balls down when there's no water). we've had it well over 10 yrs and it's still going strong, though we now use a small spongie ball as a stppoer.  bought it at toys-r-uswe tired one with a vinyl (?) bottom - didn't live for a 2nd dip due to dog nails puncturing the bottom
