So I opened a new bag of TOTW Salmon today to feed Anubis. I noticed the size of the food seemed to be a lot smaller than normal, coloring a tiny bit off, and Anubis has gotten a little bit of diarrhea from it. Somethings got to be different in this bag and I have no intentions to keep feeding it to him if he's going to keep doing that. Does anyone know if they changed anything? Food should half it's size from one bag to another. Unfortunately my work hours tomorrow are so nutty I won't be able to go back to tractor supply, but do you think they'll refund me on that? or what? If not I might as well have thrown $42 down the toilet. I go there so often they know me and Anubis very well and that I buy that food there all the time....since I'm not sure if my reciet is still around or not.

I noticed the bag of High Prarie TOTW I bought today smelled a bit different....kind of bacony. I'll let you know if anyone has an upset tummy.

This happened to me with the wild fowl TOTW. Different shape, color, smell. I called them, and of course they said nothing.

I finally find a food that all of my dogs do well on, and now I'm hearing that they may have changed the formula - how furstrating.

This food caused way too much gas for my dogs.

I fed it to my cats too and their litter box smelled so nasty.

No more for us.

Just another reason to make your own food if you can - I switched to raw a number of years ago, not just because of the recalls, it was prior to that, but because companies just couldn't seem to leave the formulae alone. Just when you got something that worked - it didn't any more. I haven't heard anything bad about Origen (yet) so you might want to investigate it. I think it's made in Canada and you either have to go through a distributor or have it delivered, which makes it less convenient. It's also more expensive than TOTW, but the people who use it seem to really like it.

Yeah he still has diarreah this morning from it. It's really annoying because it's hard for me to find food that works for my dogs. The other dogs are actually not on this food at the moment....I previously had them on it and they thrived.....now I can't feed it to any of them because of this. Just a few days ago a lady bought two bags of TOTW...I hope she doesn't have the same problems.

I fed TOTW for over a year and then noticed it looked and smelled different. One dog would eat it the other would not even look at it. The one that did eat it got horrible diarrhea and gas. I returned the bag thinking it was a fluke and got another, same thing. I also heard they changed the formula, and were not using the quality control they had been. I am using Solid Gold Bark At The Moon now,(no grain) and the dogs love it!

So they did change it?  I guess I'll be feeding him the ridiculously expensive organic food he was on when I got him. He did excellent on it also, just so expensive. I'll pick that up from work today for him.

Bear in mind it is virtually impossible to really feed the dogs the exact same thign every time, and that isnt natural fo rthem, anyway. Its not like the food companies are butchering the exact same animal over and over for the food. Perhaps the meats came from a different supplier, animals were in different condition, raised on diffferent grains...I'm nto stressing it unless I see a change in my dogs.

I always keep a supply of pumpkin or plain yogurt around. Next time you notice the food seems a bit different, give it with a few spoonfuls of one fo those and it may help with loose stool.
