I was disappointed when Kwantum did not go VA last year. His protection routine was excellent, he is producing wonderfully, he is mid-size, and has a good hip score. Has anyone heard why he did not make the class? Do you think he will make VA in August?

When all the dogs with those good things as you discribe, would go VA, there would almost not be V's anymore....

Kwantum was only 2 this year and there was already a Zamp son in the VA's. I expect that he will have a nice group this year and will make VA because of all the reasons that you mentioned. I had a very nice litter from him already.

Wilhendorf,
I am glad to hear that he is being used here in the US.
How are the drives in your litter out of Kwantum? What are the lines of the dam?
If you had to pick one outstanding flaw and one outstanding plus in the litter, what would they be?

Rukhaven: The mother of my litter is a 4X VA1 Teejay daughter out of Xcel von Wilhendorf (Hoss Laerchenhain line). The drives are above average, like Kwantum himself. I am very pleased with them! Outstanding pluses: temperament, overall structure, body proportions, forehand. Things to remember: Kwantum needs a female with normal hind quarter angulation (not too much) and dark, strong masks. I find this typical of the whole Zamp line. It is a wonderful line, but like any, must be used wisely! JOHN

John,
Thanks for the tips and honesty. And I'm glad to hear that he passes on his excellent drive! I will research your bitch's lines for future reference.
I have made the plunge and am importing a 14 month old daughter of Kwantum. Her dam is Romina vom Kottersbusch. What lines would you avoid? Would you consider Rikkor sons/grandsons? I'm taking some time - a year or more - before I consider breeding, but I want to scrape together all the information I can gather! .....Andrea
