If I were your neighbor and asked you, "Whats the most important thing I need to know about German Shepherds in genral? What would you tell me? Ok, now here are the rules, no reading other peoples comments, until you answer the question. Second rule you can only tell me about the ONE most important thing i need to know, from your own opion. Now come on don't cheat, we all know there are alot of important things to learn about, there should be german shepherd courses, you can take in college. LOL! lets just see where this takes us.

Because they are smart and active, you can't just let one raise itself. They require your time and attention.

That there are three lines, and to do your homework before buying one. Structure and temperment can vary greatly.

The one most important thing regarding the German Shepherd Dog, in my opinion, is to research about the breed to make sure one is suited for your family and lifestyle.

That they require a whole lot of time, attention, and physical and mental stimulation, so make sure you're prepared for that. Shelters and rescues are full of unlucky GSDs whose last owners bit off more than they could chew.

They need a job, if you don't give them on, they will make one up and you will not like it.............

When people ask me if GSDs are good dogs, I almost always say the following,"A GSD will be the worst dog you ever owned, or the best dog you ever owned, it depends on where you get it and how you raise it. They are not for everyone, either."
