I know there's conventional wisdom that discourages frequent baths, but my (indoor) dog swims 3 x a week in Lake Washington and with geese, ducks, etc. I don't want to invite any bacterial problems.

She's currently sharing Mane & Tail shampoo with my horse.

Mane & tail is a good product.  I delute the conditioner and lightly spay it on my dogs for added conditioner to skin and coat. It also shines their coat too.
A good quality shampoo with conditioner or oatmeal will be good to use, as frequent baths will dry the coat and skin.  So, you'll want to replenish them as much as possible.  You may also want to add a skin/coat supplement such as omega 3 or add an egg to their food occassionally.  I'd try just the shampoo 1st.  If over time, you notice itching, flakes, dry coat/skin, then add the supplement, etc.
When you do bathe the crew, leave the shampoo in for about 5 minutes to soak in the skin well, rinse and only towel dry.
Hope all works out.

Hose her off after her swim.   Bacterial problems from dirty water don't need to get to the skin, they have already gotten in the ears and nose and mouth.
I personally wouldn't over do the shampoos and conditioners.
And find a cleaner swimming hole.

I am in agreement with yellowrose, both products are very nice. There is a product called Derma Soothe that is also quite nice.
Always,

I use a couple of different soap free shampoos for my service dog who usually get's bathed once a week. The soap free shampoos are supposed to be gentle enough to use a couple of times a week.
One other thing I do with my guys is to add a couple of drops of Skin So Soft bath oil to their conditioner as it helps repel fleas as well as making their skin and coat soft.

Thanks all - I learned something in this thread. I thought soap and shampoo were pretty much synonomous but now I'll be trying the efa HyLite.

I use Pet Silk for the dogs and cat. It seems to work very well. I used it once on myself - was out and forgot to stop by the store. It worked very well on me too.  I don't wash them unless theyre really smelly dirty........swiming in nasty swamp water or rolling in extra smelly road kill...........

For bacteria problems and "itch" from infected waters, might I suggest a diluted viniger. It works great for swimmers ear and doens't sting the way others do.  Sita goes for a swim about 16 times every day - she must have been a fish in her previous life.

The vet gave me a wholistic non stinging ear drop for her about 9 months ago. I read the ingredients - viniger, water, blue die......and alovera. A tiny bottle cost 8 bucks. After reading the side of that bottle, I bought a bottle of white viniger for a buck, about every other day I put a few drops of viniger in her ears. The bottle has lasted about 9 months.
