 Hi all,

My 14-month-old female threw up her dinner, a raw frozen chicken quarter that she gets about every 3rd or 4th meal. While I was cleaning it up and preparing her some kibble with low fat plain organic yoghurt and water, to perhaps settle her stomach, she had diarrhea.

While I was cleaning up the diarrhea, I should have taken the food away but she got to it and ate it... and threw it up.

She isn't lethargic.  She is in heat.  The past couple of days I've increased her food a bit to try to put on a couple pounds as recommended.  The diarrhea was not bloody at all.

I noticed she'd chewed one of her toys to pieces, and initially thought maybe she had swallowed a piece and that's why she threw up the first time.  Her previous food for the past 24 hours has been kibble (Eagle Pack, the fishy flavor, near the bottom of the bag and she hasn't had a problem with it before) and a couple of Kong stuffers (also near the bottom of the package, no problem before) and some yoghurt, same organic brand as always, Stoneyfield plain lowfat.

At what point do I take her to a vet or call a vet? Should I wait and watch her overnight (it's close to midnight here), and see how she does? Or is this one of those emergent situations like bloat or parvo, and I need to get her to a vet pronto?

If the dogs acting normal otherwise don't panic, just call the vet in the morning.
Just give water till then.

 Thanks Moons.

That was what I was inclined to do, but I'd read so much recently about urgent problems that I wanted to hear someone else's advice.  She seems ok, she was running around before and now she's asleep in her crate - not an "I'm sick and feverish" sleep, just a "it's midnight of course I'm asleep" sleep.

She's got fresh water available to her, changed several times recently, basically every time she drank out of the bowl.

I wonder if I should give her any food in the morning, or hold off a bit longer?

I wouldn't feed her if she's going to see the vet,  or at least talk to the vet and get some better advice than mine.
But if she seems ok and you just wanna see how she does just a little kibble with no extras.

I'd rather you talked to a vet than just take my advice.

Ok now I have an editor....She ate too much and her tummy is upset. Her heat cycle has jolted her body and her digestion system..Never feed a dog immediately after they just throw up and have diahrea...give her broth with chicken tomorrow late ever...NO MORE FOOD.for 24 hrs ..

let her tummy settle...Then and only then offer her some yogurt in her small portion of food....small.....The plastic toy probably had   TOXINS in it, like dyes and chemicals that make plastic or rubber.. Could have upset her tummy also.

..do not let her eat toys...give her cow hooves , that she can't not get apart..get her a big raw knuckle bone from butcher.

I went through this early this year. Was viral infection.
Just a quick temp and two meds to take she was better in less than 10 hrs. But, a heat cycle can make them have upset
tummy. Well, they can vomit.
If the dirrehea is in excess amounts then I would say viral infection. hope she feels better soon.
