I can't stand it when he does this, but if he can, my dog will kill wasps, bees and biting flies. I've never heard him yelp as if he got stung, but he insists on eating the things. How bad can this be for dogs? Has anyone heard of dogs with bee allergies?

Yep, I have a friend with a shepherd with a severe bee allergy.  Got stung and almost died.  Two of mine insist on catching flying insects.  Very useful when a fly gets in the house.  I do keep them from eating bees and wasps as much as I can but dogs will be dogs.

I guess anybody or dog for that matter can have a allergic reaction - but all my dog's are chasing those big old bumble bees.   They are almost obsessive about chasing them.  Makes me crazy as well...

ME AND DINKIE ARE ESPECIALLY FOND OF BOO BEES

Yes, I hate that as well. My dog chomps them with her front teeth, lips way up. Then eats them when they are dead
and can't sting, I worry as her mommy. But, I guess she has it down to an art!!!!
But, for sure, I love her for Killing the Wolf Spiders I have. I am Scared to Death of large spiders.
I yell or scream and she comes out of the blue to the rescue. She pounces on them. Thank goodness, BOL.

If the dogs not dead by now I wouldn't worry about it.
My dog has a passion for those big brown beatles that gather around the night lite.
Most insects can be eaten, some cannot.
Wolf spiders are one of the more benificial insects.
I like boobees too.

I had a white GSD that would devour yellow jackets, and any other bee,

he probably liked the sting they gave him, almost as much as someone loves the taste of a Jalapeno
or habanero pepper

And don't worry, if he hasn't gone into anafalaxis shock by now, he never will.

Actually, I don't mind being stung by bee's in the right spot, they can bee...very benefical for arthritis!!!!

Yes...my old male (now gone) used to hunt anything that buzzed, only once did he swell up on me and of course we were away from home but no anaphylaxis. It's not true that if he hasn't now, he NEVER will. Anyone can devople an allergy at anytime.

Missbeeb was a bee catcher and introduced her entire litter of eight to the "passtime"... it used to worry me and I felt so sorry for the poor bees... I like bees!
