I am looking at potentially using him to train a puppy for an accellerant K9 for a FD here in KY.

I have known Mr. Schweizer since 1999, at that time I came to Maine to train with my first accelerant detection canine partner.  Bill had actually imprinted and started to train my first partner before we met, and I was fortunate enough to get a bunch of one on one training time with him.  At that time I was new to the working canine world and needed a lot of time and work, my partner didn't though.  After successfully completing our training, i on occasion had to contact him again to get some answers to problems we encountered throughout our career, and he was and still is always willing to help.

I have to add that my first partner just retired at the first of April this year, and she had a stellar career, and as you know a stellar career can only start on a good solid foundation.  I guess all i have to add is that my experience with him as a trainer has been excellent, and to this day I look up to him for direction.

Hope that helps...

If you are considering Bill Schweizer for a trainer, you are looking in the top 1 percent of all trainers in the US.  I have one of his dogs in Knoxville TN and this man knows his dogs.  He is really a dog whisperer!  He is on call 24/7 if you ever need him for anything.  His dogs are great!  I would recommend him or his dogs to any Law Enforcement agency in the world and I would put up my dog trained by him against any in the world,  BAR NONE.  This man is a real class act and his discipline and concern for the dogs shows when the dogs go to work.  His dogs live for nothing, but to work hard for you and to  be cared for by you.  He has a lifetime of experience that you cannot put a price on and his dogs are true working police k9's and accelerant k9's in every sense of the word!  If you have a chance to use him as your trainer you would be making the biggest mistake of your life if you DO NOT CHOOSE BILL SCHWEIZER!  Come see my dog and look for yourself, you can accept real world training or go to other places and get a dog that half does the job.  Any dog can find big loads of drugs or accelerants, "show me the one that only finds a little, thats the one I want."  Thats what Bill does.  Your dog will not only find the motherload, but also the small stuff that most other dogs miss!  Heck I can find the motherloads myself.  Like I said Bill is a class act and his professionalism and careing for the dogs truly show through and make his dogs, the top dogs in the country.  If you want the best go with Bill and join the elite group of dogs out there that are truly working dogs!!!

If your inquiring about Bill Schweizers qualification I would highly encourage you to use him as a trainer.  I have known Bill for five years and recevied my K-9 from him.  I am very proud to say that this dog was trained by him.  Just to make sure the readers understand that even though bill is a friend I would not mislead you about his qualification.  I have personally seen and expirenced the high quality dogs that he produces.  I have seen him make dogs do things that other trainers could only imagine doing.  I have dealt with other agencies and training facitlities where I wonder how the team was ever Certified. These other dogs are a joke  When compared to thedogs that are produced by Schweizer.  I'm proud and honored to have one of his K-9's.

So if your wondering if you should use Bill Schweizer, I would ask you are you looking for perfection and quality. Then you need to open up your eyes and see for yourself.  I would  highly recommend the you use Bill Schweizer, if you dont then your missing out.  I would consider this man one of the best trainers nation wide.

Thanks,
Inv. Michael Koster & K-9 "Diesel"

I met Bill Schweizer in 1993 when my daughter's Fire Investigator class at SMMC was invited to watch the accelerant detecting dogs& handlers training at their class in Maine. The dogs that Bill trained were exceptionally well behaved and did their job with excellence. I am not in the investigative or police field of work but have had the personal experience to have Bill work with my dog. When I spoke with him about my 'unruly' boxer/lab, Bill was more than willing to help me out in the evenings after work with him. My 8 month old puppy, Harley,  bounded out of the car at his first  session with the attitude of  "here I am" while pulling me across the yard. Within less than 5 minutes,Bill had Harley sitting and walking beside him. Harley has been going on the average of 3 -4 times a week for 4 weeks now. He no longer counter surfs (at which he was an expert), knows the commands of sit, stay, come, off and down. Bill has patience not only with the dogs but with handlers or in my case, owner. He has a wealth of knowledge which he shares with anyone asking questions. In my opinion, Bill is a dog whisperer. When he speaks to the dogs, he is very soft spoken and most often times uses only hand signals once they have learned what is expected.

Bill Schweizer is a renowned dog trainer and is highly respected in his field. He is the best of the best. I would highly recommend Bill for training of your dog.

Many thanks

Patty, Maine

Great to see so many who agree, this Bill must truly be special.  Wish he had a clone near me!

It'd be interesting to know if the IP #'s are clones among the first four responders.  The writing style is sure similar.

....maybe one supprter saw the name on the thread and invited some other fans to also endorse someone they admire.  It doesn't mean they're the same person posting from the same computer.....

Why not contact fire departments directly, or a professional association for references, or to check out references? We've seen it happen before where one person has signed on multiple times with different names. Anonymizers have been used in some instances, as well. I am not saying that is the case here, but the timing is suspect, based onthe forum's past experience. Remember Helser, for example?
