Hi, I was wondering if anyone could let me know if their is any possibility that a bitch can be ovulating on day 21/22 after first bleeding? I always thought that the bitch was week off, week on, week off! She is showing all the signs of being in pup. I was wondering if maybe it could be a phantom pregnancy?

Week on week off? Where in the world did you hear that? Most females are done by 21-22 days, but some females don't ovulate until then. Just like women, each one is different. Take her in at 30 days post and do either a blood test or ultrasound. OR, since she's just a pet, get the spay done now.

Yep you may have a problem there is no such thing as off an on, just ovulation time .Signs no way at that point so false maybe, what sigs ?

Yeah, mine was very ripe very late.......better make an appointment with the vet, or call your vet & ask them. jh

My eldest female conceived on the 21st day as well. The stud owner came to watch the super bowl game and we had tried several times prior to get them together, with no luck. Well don't you know while the game was on, "their game was on" HAH LOL Touchdown 7 puppies !!!!
So yes it can happen. By the way she lived indoors and was my only dog at the time so I knew exactly when she started so the day count was correct.

At the moment I have 2 bitches on heat one who will not be bred this time but she is now on day 32 and still bleeding and she is still flagging at my male and another who was bred 7 days ago to an outside stud and she is now on day 23 and also still flagging at my male. I hope that they finish soon as my male is driving me nuts as he didn't get either one of them.
