So this is actually about my German Shorthaired Pointer/Lab mix, but there is alot of knowledge on this board and I've heard OCD is somewhat common with GSDs. And to keep it GSD related, my 2nd girl is a GSD-they're 'partners' so to speak. I work both of them in detection so they do some pretty rigorous stuff, up and down alot, jumping etc. The GSP started limping over a week ago. We slowed down, took her to the vet and she's been on rimadyl. Wasn't helping so back today for x-rays. Its not confirmed but the vet thinks she very likely has Osteo Chondritis Dissecans or OCD in her shoulder. Anyone have experience with this? If we don't do the [$2000+] surgery will it mean she can no longer work? Any other options that you would recommend? Just looking for someone with personal experience, I discussed it in length with the vet. We're sending the x-rays to a radiologist for further opinion. thanks
