Well, nothing could be worse than Delta- they lost a pup we shipped. They had no manifest, either, to even let us know when the pup would arrive at the destination to where we shipped it, and had no way of locating where it was when it didnt arrive on the flight we booked it on! . I would never fly a dog, or myself on Delta, ever again. I was connected to customer service in India and had to hold for 40 minutes to get a represenatative in the USA. Since I was trying to locate the pup, which was in the USA, this was inexcuseable! I finally got connected to a customer service rep in the USA- she was rude, unsympathetic, and totally uncaring. She refused to put me on the phone with a supervisor. I ended up filing a complaint with Homeland Security and the FAA, as I was inscensed that in this day and age of terrorism, there was no cargo manifest on a passenger plane!!! YIKES! Thank God the pup finally arrived , many hours late on a different flight than we shipped it on, but they couldnt even tell us the pup was on that flight as they had no info! The pup had to go the vet because it was dehydrated- it had traveled over 15 hours for what was supposed to bea simple flight. God only knows where it was, that whole time.

Just wanted to relate our experience, to save someone else heartache. The pup is in the vet on IV fluids, due to being so dehydrated :(

OMG
I generally use Continental, but have used Delta a few times.  I agree, with the terrorism today, and they had no record of a "cargo" item.  I feel safer already

Don't get me started with Delta. Lets make a long story short. My male came from the Netherlands. He was suppose to fly in to Atlanta, GA to St Louis, Mo. Well he ending up lost. No one new where he was then he eventually popped up in Alabama and given to another person that worked there at the airport! He was not on the manifest but all his paperwork was taped to his crate. I had to make a lot of phone call then I call the shipper (Animals to fly) and they fixed it all. They were going to sue..... The Delta supervisor told me that the issurance would cover my cost of the puppy if he could not be found! I was furious. I told the supervisor that I was on my way to Alabama to pick my dog up. He claimed that he was no longer in Alabama but New York on a connecting flight! He eventually got to St Louis, MO. Never again! He was dirty, wet, soiled, hungry, thirsty, and most importantly...scarred.

Our pup was so seriously dehydrated she had to stay in the vets office getting IV fluids and had to be monitored. The  vet has wriiten down that the reason the pup was in such serious condition was due to airline neglect and severe dehydration. The pup was covered in diarrhea when she finally reached her destination, and in very poor shape. She was perfectly healthy before the flight, had a health certificate and this was totally the fault of Delta airlines. From what you said, it just verifies that they have no cargo manifest and no clue, what-so-ever. Who in their right mind would fly an airline that has no idea what or where their cargo is???????? I still do not understand how Homeland security would allow this?? Anyone??????
