I would like to publically thank each and everyone of the participants and spectators for coming to this years Sieger Show. This was the first year the event was held in our area. I think we did a good job, not perfect mind you and there are always things that can be improved upon. We know things were not perfect, we did our best and hoped God would take care of the rest and we got the rain! We cannot control the weather, but we can learn from the mistakes that are made and make improvements in the years to come.
There are three individuals that did an outstading and excellent job pitching in and doing the real heavy lifting at the site, 14 hours a day four days this weeked, including entire three days of the event:
Vince Spadavecchio
Mike Spadavecchio
Gene Kalaviatis
All three of these gentlemen catered to the USA Office staff and Show Sectretary, assisted at the gate whenever needed, moved straw bales, picked up after dogs and set up and moved rings as well as tables and tents as needed. There orgaizational skills ability to motivate others and spirit of volunteerism cannot be beat. They never lost their tempers when the going got tough and the rain was coming down in buckets. Many would have just went home, especially those that did not have a dog in the rings as Gene and Vince did.
and
All of the crew form Indian Creek Sch Club who handled the bite work practice and training professionally and in a very organized fashion! Bill and Jen did an excellent job picking people that were upstanding and observant of the rules and order needed in this type of stressful environment. Very little guidence came their way from USA, and they pulled it off with the percesion that only comes from a professional organization.
The weather this past weekend was far less than perfect for any outdoor event save those for a duck, and I think they were even hiding.
The only reward for these people is our public acknowledgement, they stood up, volunteered and assisted where ever they could and derserve a huge round of applause for their efforts, without which the show would have totally emploded.
We definatly needed more volunteers in this region with the heart and soul of these people who stood out in the blazing heat of Friday as well as the sleet and storms of the rest of the weekend to have been completely successful.
I thank them ALL from the bottom of my heart!
