Last year Ravi posted video of the bitework for the working class males at the 2008 SS.  Unfortunately he was not able to run the camera this year.  So who has video?

I went looking on You Tube last night and couldn't find any yet.  Hopefully when folks get home from the show someone will upload what they got.

I,d be shocked after last years weak preformances they didnt have a camera nazi making sure there was no "unauthorized" filming go on.

I was there assisting with the organization of the performance test.  I had a front row seat for all of it  and we would not have stopped anyone from video taping.  In fact we all wish someone had been there taping, but I don't think that anyone did, at least no one that I noticed although there were a few people taking pictures.  But if you go back and watch the footage from last year it is pretty much the same quality.  The only dog with truly quality bite work all around, good control, full hard grips, fast outs and good guarding was the working dog Boy von Zorra.  Other than Boy there were 3 showlines that had pretty good bitework; Yash, Quizno and Yasso, but still not near the quality of Boy.  The rest aren't worth mentioning, if you can't say anything nice...

No video at all? I worked this week-end, (2nd shift.) I was also hoping that maybe someone out there would have video of the dogs.

I wholeheartedly agree with you there JB. It was actually quite funny watching the front half helper stuck in his tracks on the attack out of the blind. Even Mark had to tell him to get moving. When he was able to move, he kind of ran around in little circles,,,,tee hee. Ironic that most of these dogs are SchHIII and the majority of them had a difficult time with, and in many cases failed, a SchHI performance test. The test itself was really dummied down on the front as I heard the helper on more than one ocassion making noise to attract the dogs to him. When the females started their work I was actually surprised as they appeared to be faster with better commitment on the long bite than the males. But, that changed rapidly as almost more females failed the test than passed it. It was like pulling teeth to get Tobias to return to the show site after lunch but I had friends to support so I bought him some dark glasses and a rubber nose and he toughed it out. Leido was definitely the cream of the crop as far as the ring work went but hands down, no contest, Boy had the best performance routine. IMO they should re-introduce the performance test being administered by the same helpers that do the SchH National Championship. This will bring much more credibility to not only the title of Universal Sieger but also the the Sieger itself.

Boy did receive acknowledgement for his skill in bitework at the awards ceremony and recieved one of the plaques that was sponsored by Ravi and Turner Junction.

I do beleive there is some video that may surface soon on the bitework, at least the males.  It is extremely difficult to film things in a the down pour, thunder and lightning that was occuring that morning.  It would have taken a brave soul to take an expensive video camera out there.

I hope I wrote the these down correctly for the performance trophy awards:

Here are the unofficail reciptients, catalog order no ranking was given for best performance, I did cross reference the show rating:

60  Coco vom Haus Thalie  VA3

68 Nikola vom Wunsterberger-land  V9

70  Aspen vom Mittelwest  VA4

72  Bali von der Bermbacher Scheune  V7

78  Brisca vom Roten Acker  V5

Males

17  Yasso vom Mittelwest  V6

I think it's excellent that dogs who shined in the performance test were acknowledged with accolades and awards.  OUTSTANDING!  However I am dismayed to note that NONE of the 11 VA male dogs were on that list.

Molly, that is why I am disappointed.  non of the VA males were acknowledged for their performance.   Maybe it is cause I am not big into the show scene, I just don't understand why dogs are placed higher than others if the work was not there.
its not really should the best dog win.  Leido is a nice male, and I do like him, but alot of the other VA males is ? to me.
