My pup just turned 12 weeks old. It's been a while, but is this when a pup starts teething, and when are the permanent teeth all in? Her one ear is up, and now it is down.

normally they start just before they are 4 months old - the first adult teeth you will see are the front incisors. Between 4-5 months is the "main teething period" where they wil lose the baby teeth and adults are coming in behind them. By 6 months all adult teeth should be in place, sometimes at 6 months the adult canines are not 100% in but they should be in place by then. It isn't uncommon for ears to "go soft" during teething and before teething - usually nothing to worry about if the ears are up before teething starts.

Molly,
Both ears were up when she came from Germany. This morning, when she woke up, the ear was up, but went back down. You can see her moving it and flicking it. Should I worry?

I wouldn't worry if the ears were up previously - they will more than likely come up again after she is finished teething.

Sita's ears did the up and down things many times.
Once they were both up for two weeks and one fell again - she was 5.5 months. She's crazy for swimming so I took her to the vet just in case. She was starting to develope a case of swimmers ear. He gave me some goo to put in and her ear was up the next morning and has been ever since...........
Now I put vinigar in her ears every few days. It works just as good as swimmer-ear drops, but doesn't sting.
I wouldn't worry at this age, but do make sure that there isn't a physical reason why its down.

Your worrying about nothing, all will work it self out in a couple of months, just enjoy the laugh now of how they look and what mischief they get into,it will be the memories you love and tell stories about later, because the real work starts soon, and then you will praying for the day he ate your table leg off. Im not being funny, but most dogs ears if breed from normal bloodlines will stand up, and the teething is more of a destruction problem , and no nothing will make ears stand or a pup not to eat and bite everything in sight ,keep it safe and laugh as much as you can Grrr how about some photos of those floppy ears.
