Don Corleone

by Don Corleone on 23 April 2009 - 15:04

Since I currently don't have a dog or forsee getting one for training this year.  I was curious what you guys had on the agenda for the year.  BH, SCH 1-3,  Ring,  Obedience titles or simply training Spot to stop crapping on the drive?

I think it is important to set  goals.  Without them, we tend to go in circles.  They push us and keep us on track.  It is good to say, "Pepper and I are going to get our 2 at the Bonzai Sch Club on June 3rd."  It is also good to set shorter goals.  Things you want to accomplish for the day.  Too many people show up to training without a plan.  They wait their turn, get their dog out of the car and walk back to the field considering what should be worked on or ask someone else.

I've seen clubs write on their boards what every members goals are and I think this is a great idea.  As a club, you have to be a club.  Knowing the goals of others helps everyone.

Too damned many goals here!

5-6 young dogs (lost count) to title, show & survey, (some have BH, AD, 'bout ready for the SchH 1, others not) a couple of litters (maybe). If I can get MY 4 dogs titled/surveyed by June, I'll take in a couple outside dogs. Otherwise no. Anybody have a good helper they want to lend me for daily protection training. (preferrably for free) The once a week stuff isn't going to do it this year.

Let me know when they perfect the human cloning process...

Give me a call when you get a good litter out of Axel.  I would suggest you use a female, however.

A few :)

I'd like to get the BH on my two Sherms...and I'm looking at getting a Maly pup/young dog in September/October once I graduate my Officer Basic Course for PSA work.

And I really want to work on my Decoy skills...a couple of the local folks are teaching me how to take hits on a sleeve and in a suit....I LOVE it!

Going to attempt my first Sch title with my first dog after that I might see if I can work towards putting a title on the male we own.

That's actually probably the harder goal, since half the time he leaves me beating my head into the bring holster with frustration.  Still, I imagine I would learn a lot in working him.

Finally to get a BH on Karma next month. She's been nearly ready for months. I just am a wimp about actually trialing:)
TD on Cora, and to get my young dog under control and doing SOMETHING!
For our club-- to get a regular place to train and start the workings for us to become "official."

LOL funny you should ask Don......I have BIG goals this year!

Get a RN on my girl (2 legs down, 1 to go!)

(7) BH's with 7 diffrent dogs (2 down, 5 to go! wish me luck this weekend with #3)

(2) dogs to Sch1 , Sch2 and KOR

Wow thats a lot for one plate but it sure will be fun!

Great idea to have ALL club members to put in writing and share their goals with each other!

Feeding and cleaning after that many dogs is a job in itself.  You must have plenty of lights on your field.
