Hi Guy's, my puppy is 10 weeks old he is very playful at all times and sleeps has normal, but when it comes to meal time he wont eat his meals, he eats very small amounts then wants to play around,
I have tried different things added to his meals which i know is making a rod for my own back but i am worried why he wont eat, he has not lost weight and is growing.
He is really active and full on... so any help would be great!!! has anyone gone through the same thing at some point with puppies. Is there any thing else i should consider trying.

If your puppy is not losing weight and is active, I would not worry, they can only eat so much at a sitting. How much is your puppy eating at one meal? Several small meals seems to be working for you. I would not try to add things to the food, unless you want to add more calories. Also just a note did you look at the expiration on the dog food bag? Have a great day.
Always,

Have you had him checked for parasites?? Urinary tract infection (not unusual when housebreaking).. aside form the physical.... try making smaller more frequent meals, try using his meals or part of it as training rewards (kibble right?)
If you are feeding other treats that would also affect his ability to eat .. that's ok, reduce his food..
A lot of people just plain try to feed too much.. how much are you trying to get into him??

You said he wants to play around. Feed him in his crate! Of course a young pup would rather investigate than eat. Close him in his crate with the door shut with his food. He'll have nothing to do BUT eat! I do this with all my pups and never have a problem getting them to eat. Put the food in with him for 20 minutes, and whatever he doesn't eat, take away. Let him be a little hungry until his next meal if you have to.

DKiah its funny you should say about the Urinary tract infection, he has been licking himself in that department quite alot as if its irritating him... i checked him out and he seems ok to the eye, he is checked in at the vets on Saturday for is last puppy injection, so i will mention this too him...
He eats about 3 mouth fulls and then has had enough and just starts playing around. he seems fit and well apart from this eating lark which cracks me up.
Thanks for everyones help and advice much appreciated.
