I am posting this message to detail my dealings with Judy Dominguez at http://www.arizonablackshepherds.com

Since then, I have had a lot of questions and asked to see the dogs which suprisingly are not located at Judy's kennel but at a friend's in Souther California who is too busy to talk to me or let me see the puppies.
I got a bad feeling about this particular deal because of the secrecy and other issues so I politely asked for my deposit back. Here is the email I wrote in short, I removed my personal information:

Hello Judy,
I have been thinking about this deal and I am starting to really feel uncomfortable about everything, so please send my deposit back as I no longer want the pick of your litter due to arrive May 21st.
I will be in Phoenix next week, so if you prefer I will stop by and pick up the cash so you dont have to go through any trouble.
---------------------------------------
Stay tuned to see how Judy handles this matter and to see what kind of breeder she truely is.

Since my initial deposit, I have been thoroughly researching DDR GSDs through many avenues including talking to many breeders. I can everyone right now that there are a lot of VERY reputable breeders that have some very interesting opinions of Judy and basically told me to avoid her kennel.
Even one of her employees had unpleasant news to share.
I will be posting all the facts and asking other breeder's to share their comments on this thread as well as posting pictures of her 'operation' and any other useful data I can find.
If she is an honorable breeder and does return my deposit, I will be the first to post that and defend her honesty thereforth.
My initial assessment of her entire breeding operation so far is the same as MANY reupatable DDR breeders which is: STAY AWAY!
DO YOUR RESEARCH PEOPLE!

Did you try calling her first before taking it here?

by Uber Land on 22 April 2009 - 22:04
you are posting this why? how long have you given her to respond to this?
she hasn't refused to do anything yet, though most breeders do not refund deposits.

Whats her contract say about the refund of a deposit if you back out ? refundable not refundable?
by salaaf on 22 April 2009 - 22:04
Yes I tried calling her and either her phone is off or she is ignoring me.
I would like to note that since I posted this, I have been getting emails from people stating that they also have a negative view of her kennel and describing their experiences.
So far, I have a negative opinion of her from 4 DDR breeders and a Czech kennel. No one has sent me a positive email regarding her yet.
I took it here because I have been trying to contact her for 2 days now. Yesterday and Today.

There is no contract and she never once told me that my deposit was non-refundable.
In fact the receipt of my deposit states that the deposit gave me pick of the litter which is not even ready yet. So legally speaking, I still have pick of her litter until she refunds my deposit. That being said, if she sells even 1 puppy without giving me pick, then I will take her to court for that.

if you forfeit your deposit, you can't take her to court.
why did you send $500 without a contract? you said you sent the deposit, then did research. why didn't you do research BEFORE placing a deposit on a litter?
I don't know a breeder, anywhere that refunds deposits because the buyer "changed" their mind. that is why deposits are non refundable. buying a pup is an imnportant decision, not to be taken lightly. a deposit paid for by the buyer shows the breeder they are serious about purchasing a pup and about providing it a home. it is like buying piece of mind for the breeder. too many people say they want a puppy without a deposit and too many are never heard from again. breeder misses sells and the pup stays longer until a new appropriate home can be found.
the litter isn't even ready to go yet. how old are they? some breeders do not like people viewing their puppies before shots are given due to risk of cross contamination of parvo or distemper. maybe the person who houses the dogs is just busy. this is a busy time of year for people with kids having proms and such. I don't think you have given these people enough time to respond to you privately. remember breeders also have lives outside of the dog business.
as far as other DDR breeders talking bad about this breeder. they will do that to sell you a puppy. I have found many DDR breeders DO NOT like each other. they talk smack behind each others backs all the time. can you believe most of what you hear? I don't know the breeder personally, and have only spoken a few times so I can't vouch for her credibility, but I don't think you have given any one a chance to respond to your demands

Why is it surprising that the bitch is located at another kennel?? They are called co-ownerships and they are not rare. The pups were born 3/26?? I would not be allowing people to come and view the pups at 3 or 4 weeks either. Uber land has it right, no one would be allowed with the pups at that time due to the possibility of infecting the pups with something. At this age there would also be no need for you to invade mom and pups as you cant tell personality/working ablilty and would not be able to properly choose your pick right now anyway. I think this is a bit premature and immature on your part to be spreading hearsay about this breeder due to others views on them. This is research you should have done before trusting to send someone five hundred dollars, with no contract to boot. Also, depending on the agreement Judy has with the women who has the bitch and litter, she might not want to or be required to be involved with the placement of the pups. I hope you are able to come to a mutual agreement with Judy and everything works out for both of you. I dont know Judy but I followed the link you gave for her and her dogs look very well cared for and those pups are beautiful. Good luck with your search for a pup.
