I recently got a lead on Brazen vom Frauengarten, (Carol x Gabi) now 2.5 yrs old, "given away" by a buyer who never finished paying for him in the first place. Brazen is believed to be with a female trainer in either MD or VA, (also trains rotties?) who very probably does not know the circumstances of his status.
He is a strongly pigmented red sable, med-heavy bones, large head, likely over 80 lbs., (I haven't seen him in over a year) normal but luxurious coat. He showed excellent ability in the work, so may have been represented as a police dog prospect, possibly even re-sol as such? (no papers) He is tattooed in his right ear- FG06B4, (green ink) and has an AVID, 10-digit Eurochip implanted- 146346095A. He was originally sold to a man named Cleveland Tyson, a self-described protection/K9/schutzhund dog trainer/helper, but he never signed a contract agreement and never paid the balance on the puppy, so the dog is still AKC registered to ME, and I am the owner of record on m/chip and AKC Companion Animal Recovery databases. Of course there's always a chance the dog was registered with false paperwork...
I will NEVER give up the search!
If any of you know anyone who may have been passed a dog "gotten rid of due to health reason.." please try to get a look at its tattoo. Any/all assistance will be kept strictly confidential if requested. I just wish the jerk who did this would come clean. What he has done is very cruel to me and unwarranted in anyone's book. All he had to do was call me to come get the dog and I would have dropped everything and retreived him within minutes. All the apologies and excuses in the world will never make up for failing to return my precious dog, not letting me refund the money paid in exchange for safe return, keeping the truth of his disappearance/disbursement from me.
I hope none of you ever have to go through this.
Thanks all,
SS

I have set aside all thoughts of revenge, "forgiven" (never forget), just want to know what happened to my boy.
If it helps, the person who bought the dog used to work with an older trainer he called Master Baker, somewhere in NJ?

Shelley,
You can contact AKC and find out who the dog is registered to. Pretty quick on the response.

The dog is registered to ME, tattoo and m/chip recorded with AKC at time of registration.

Shelley,
You can check to see who is currently registered and possibly put a flag on it.

I feel your frustration and anger. We had a very nice puppy stolen from us. Our investigations turned up a situation in which at least three puppies were stolen, one of which ended up in a breed rescue. Because local police were somehow complicit, we were told that there is not much anyone could do. The person who had one of the pups, quite possibly ours, wanted to keep him and train him as a "demonstration dog." This guy calls himself a trainer of military and police dogs when he does nothing of the sort. Anyway, he gave up the puppy to a breed rescue. Whatever he told them, they refused to communicate with us or give us any information on the puppy.
We think that all three puppies were all taken by the same man, an animal control officer. So he had the authority to come and take any puppy by lying and saying it was "abused" despite a lack of evidence. Only one of the pups is recorded as being in the pound so the records become muddied. (The animal control officer is no longer working as such due to being found guilty of animal abuse himself.)
I guess there is no limit to how far people will sink in order to make money or for the thrill of doing something illegal. But a dog is not a car or a piece of jewelry. I still wonder about our dog and follow any lead when it comes up.
Hope you find your dog!

I placed a flag on the dog with the AKC some time ago. I lost a lot of my pix when my old laptop died. Brazen didn't look much like most of his siblings. He was more compact, heavy boned, longer coat (not long hair though!) a real hunk. He had very good angulation for a working line dog (ala his Daddy), especially in front, better that usual movement and a very strong head. Even as a puppy he had an "old soul" expression, excellent nerve base, fridnly with kids, other dogs, but crazy drives. He would have a solid V conformation. He was probably the best looking working pup I ever produced. He reminded me of a cross of Warth Arolser Holz and Neck Maineiche at 8-10 mos, same kind of structure, pigment, head, which is what he is.
