OT- Some days I really love my job! - Page 1

There is always some group or other handing out free food here at the Capitol.  Today it's the OK Farm Bureau and boy, do they put out a spread!   Swedish meatballs, potatoe wedges, fresh asparagus, tomatoes, cukes, broccolli, red, green and yellow peppers, green onions, olives, several kinds of cheese, several cheese spreads/balls, every kind of cracker you can imagine, ham, pimento cheese, chicken salad, and roast beef sandwiches, guacamole, chips, seven layer dip (spicy!), pico de gallo, THEN the desserts!  Brownies chock full of pecans, cookies of every kind, blueberry cake, coconut macaroons (killer!), fresh pineapple, strawberries, honeydew, cantelope, green and purple grapes, kiwis, little individual tart/pies and on and on. Buuurp......gonna need a nap now!

Swedish meatballs, I haven't had them in ages! And did you say KILLER MACAROONS? I want some!

These were the best I've ever tasted. Usually macaroons can be kinda gooey in the middle. These were light and fluffy, yet chewy-moist with a just-right browned top. The brownies were pretty darn good too!

The only perk I get at my new job is 1/2 price at the restaurant corporate owns next door. I can eat there cheaper than I can at home. Probably a good thing the discount doesn't apply to alcoholic beverages. The steep, crooked mountain road home could be a real killer with a few drinks under the belt!

W00T!!!   Today the OK Restaurant association is here!  Tabouleh and cabbage rolls! Bismati rice and chicken tikka!  Hot artichoke and cheese dip! Marinated veggies! Sushi (-) PEACH FRIED PIES!!!!

I love my job two days in a row.

Okie, please stop i haven't eaten yet and now i've dribbled all over my key board,lol,lol.  I'm off for FOOD!!!! liz
