To all who have helped, and sent me emails, PMs or posted, I wanted to let you know how my battle with Fibromyalgia is going.
I have not felt this great in years...my back is no longer tight, painful or stiff. My hips, knees and ankles feel better as well.
I must say, I attribute a great deal of this pain relief to the medicine Cymbalta. As of yet, I have only noticed one side-effect, and does NOT greatly impact my life.
Thank you all again, for the suggestions, support and kind, caring emails.
Krista

Krista,
I got sick in late 2001. No one knew what was going on with me but I eventually got a dx of Fibromyalgia Syndrome. I'm glad to hear that something is working out for you so you can feel and function better. I go into remission for a while and it flares up occasionally. I don't have as much pain now as I did about two years ago so it may get better. I had to make some changes to reduce stress levels - and spend more time with my dogs! I find that more than anything else, contact with animals and being able to get back to hiking in the woods, as well as an extended period of not over-working - has made a huge difference. It's usually more than just doing - or not doing - one thing. It's a lifestyle change. I wouldn't wish this condition on anyone. But it really makes you look at your life and weed out a lot of stuff that you don't need, and focus more energy on doing the fee things that are the most important because sometimes that's all you have the energy and patience to do.
My best to you!

My late partner had Fibro very badly... was even in a nursing home for a while because of it. Traditional medical stuff didn't work for her and upon the suggestion of our GP we looked into some Holistic products. She started taking Rhus Tox... and went from bedridden to working in her flower garden within a week. While it's not a perminate cure, it did make a huge difference. You might look into it.
(Rhus Tox is derived from Poison Ivy, but does NOT create the allergic reaction that The actual Ivy causes)

Thank you all!
Yes, there is certainly a great deal of reading about Fibro! My doctors have been a great help, as well!
Yes, I was checked for thyroid, and numerous bloodtests, etc...As mentioned, my doctor suspected me of having Fibro since 2003, so she has been on the lookout since then.
Thanks again everyone, very sweet of you all who offered advice, and best wishes!
