Naya's Mom

by Naya's Mom on 20 April 2009 - 21:04

To all who have helped, and sent me emails, PMs or posted, I wanted to let you know how my battle with Fibromyalgia is going.

I have not felt this great in years...my back is no longer tight, painful or stiff. My hips, knees and ankles feel better as well.

I must say, I attribute a great deal of this pain relief to the medicine Cymbalta. As of yet, I have only noticed one side-effect, and does NOT greatly impact my life.

Thank you all again, for the suggestions, support and kind, caring emails.

Krista

Diagnosed offically 03/26/2009, expirienced symptoms since 2003.

Krista,

I got sick in late 2001. No one knew what was going on with me but I eventually got a dx of Fibromyalgia Syndrome. I'm glad to hear that something is working out for you so you can feel and function better. I go into remission for a while and it flares up occasionally. I don't have as much pain now as I did about two years ago so it may get better. I had to make some changes to reduce stress levels - and spend more time with my dogs! I find that more than anything else, contact with animals and being able to get back to hiking in the woods, as well as an extended period of not over-working - has made a huge difference. It's usually more than just doing - or not doing - one thing. It's a lifestyle change. I wouldn't wish this condition on anyone. But it really makes you look at your life and weed out a lot of stuff that you don't need, and focus more energy on doing the fee things that are the most important because sometimes that's all you have the energy and patience to do.

My best to you!

My late partner had Fibro very badly... was even in a nursing home for a while because of it.  Traditional medical stuff didn't work for  her and upon the suggestion of our GP we looked into some  Holistic products. She started taking Rhus Tox... and went from bedridden to working in her flower garden within a week.   While it's not a perminate cure, it did make a huge difference.  You might look into it.

(Rhus Tox  is derived from Poison Ivy, but  does NOT create the allergic reaction that The actual Ivy causes)

I did not see your earlier posts, but I was once diagnosed with Fibromyalgia in about 2002, then later diagnosed with a thyroid problem. Since taking the thyroid medication I have been fine - no more pains everywhere and good energy levels - I presume you have had your thyroid checked as I believe these conditions can be linked? I did not have typical symptoms of a thyroid condition which was why diagnosis took so long and I was ill for several years, but am now totally fine... good luck!

Thank you all!

Yes, there is certainly a great deal of reading about Fibro! My doctors have been a great help, as well!

Yes, I was checked for thyroid, and numerous bloodtests, etc...As mentioned, my doctor suspected me of having Fibro since 2003, so she has been on the lookout since then.

Thanks again everyone, very sweet of you all who offered advice, and best wishes!

My Mother has :   Fibromyalgia,

                  Chronic Fatigue

                  Chronic sinus infections

                  Depression

                  Migranes

Acid Reflux, so bad she no longer has the valve to stop the acid from coming up.

                  Swelling in her ankles.

After a tremendous amounts of "Pharmaceuticals", that caused more harm than good.  I finally convinced her to Try  " Nutriceuticals " Nutritional derived therapy.

She has now been drug free for 8 months

my daughter is on : Mita-Mins for kids with digestive enzymes, some Orac.  This is really about Wellness and preventative care

I used to have chronic sinus infections, and severe carpal tunnel.                   I take, : Digestive enzymes, Orac, Opc, Acai, Mult-mineral

my dogs/Puppies take : OPC PET HEALTH WITH GLUCOSIMINE  this works at the cellular level and is preventative joint care as well as maintance for the older dogs.

All of these products are about Immune system , and Wellness, they fight daily free radical damage.

I know I will never live without these products and my mother and daughter won't either.

The Other absolutely Awesome thing about all the products I mentioned , is that they are Isotonic.   You Drink it and it taste Great.  No Pills.  There is no sugar added, the only sugar is the natural fruit derived (fructose) from the berries that are in the ingredients.
