Hi everyone,

I have a question, it may sound a stupid one but I really need to know as I am not aware of  the procedure how the papers are being issued. If some one buys a puppy with tattoo and along with pink papers, is it for sure that the puppy is the son or daughter of those parents on the paper? Is there a test that the club makes to make sure of that?.

If the answer is yes to the above, why does some dogs turn out  much less in quality than their parents in respect to color, anatomy and croup? Please shed some light on this.

Greetings

Ibrahim

AKC papers don't prove squat; they are strictly on the honor system, which nowadays is a faulty one. People lie on them every day, ordering more individual puppy papers than they have puppies and lying about who the actual parents are. DNA is helpful, but only if both parents are on record. Also, the AKC doesn't care very much when you catch someone cheating and report them. You just look like an annoying whiner!

HOWEVER, then Genetics raises its inconvenient head, and puppies come out looking like grandparents or great grandparents or even more greats. There are a whole slew of variables, and when nature CAN confuse you, she will. For example, I bred a sable to a black and got bi-colors and livers. Sigh.

Still not sure why nature is thought to be female, though.

Thanks a lot, what about when you buy the puppy from Germany, SV papers? Is it the same?
