To be awarded the VA (Excellent) rating at the North American Sieger Show the German Shepherd  must be shown at least once at a GSDCA-WDA Conformation Event during the calendar year prior to the North American Sieger Show. This rule is effective immediately.

well, so much for people bringing over top imports a week before to show at the WDA Sieger show.  I doubt much will change though,  with all those midnight trials and such

No, they will just bring them over a few months before and ener the dog in the local WDA show.  I am sure that the regional shows will ALL be moved to early September or whatever is 2-3 months prior to the NASS to take care of this little, pesky requirement.

What I'd like to see, and hope USA considers, is a VA requirement that the dog have been trialed in a USA trial, in lieu of the watered down protection required at the Sieger Show.   It could even be trialing  as a Sch 1, just so it was in the broad daylight and at a USA trial.  This would exclude any trial at any club with a history of one handler "handling" 10-14 dogs, per the trial results.
