Hi Guys!!!!

I would appreciate it if you all could light a few candles this weekend for me, I could use alittle prayer

I have gotten extra nervous lately and my dog can sense it when I am in the ring, and I see everything is
going really well and it looks like we're going to qualify and get that leg, then everything falls apart

At my last show I got so nervous that Theo got up & walked over to me, he must have thought I was about to faint  I hate the pressure of being
in the ring for the real show, but then when I'm at training class, we can't do anything wrong

Does anyone that does AKC obedience have any pointers on feeling relaxed, we have a show on Saturday, so
pointers away!!!!!!

Here's Muffin head on the picinic table this morning, (Ain't he cute!)  I had to crop the picture, I took it from inside my house,
from the kitchen window

Thanks Everyone in advance!!  Pointers away!!!!!

I wish I could help, but I'm not much better in the nerves department!

Getting better with experience, but I HATE the AKC ring!  Feel much more comfortable on the Schutzhund field!  LOL  Or better yet, herding!

No tips that would help other than a stiff whisky... I am Scottish!  Very best of luck to you, I'll keep my fingers crossed & light a wee candle for you.

I walk the pattern that morning without the dog.  I go over it in my mind and walk it again. Take a deep breath before each pattern and then after.  I like pina colada with malabou rum :))))))  Just have fun.
Always,
Cee

I've seriously considered the stiff drink option!

If you drink someone will smell it on your breath.  Xanax would be the better choice !!

Best of luck, you know you can both do it!

Someone said something to me just before my first ever BH and it has stuck with me.

No matter what happens on the field (or in the ring) you'll still get up Monday morning and go to work.

After that I realized that I'm out here to have fun with my dog and while there will always be nerves (no one wants to screw up in public :D) it's more fun for me and her if we're having fun.

I believe it's that which got me through my BH with my male when I decided to do his after only 3 weeks of working with him.  Just out there, having fun.

Plus you don't run the risk of barfing good scotch on the judges shoes.

A very sobering thought... getting up on Monday morning and going to work!  I'll remember that!
