I do not usually post or read alot of posts, but lately there have been some amusing ones.

I have read some from people who say:" one hell of a working dog" or the " judge said". Of course these people have never
seen the dog work or the person was not at the show/trial. Why must you give misinformation? It would be so much nicer to say " I heard the dog worked well" or "someone said the judge said".
Why must people try to pretend they are in the 'know" or that they really know what is going on?
Come on people the wrong information can be harmful. Think before you write.

There will always be those who are instant experts.  They do schutzhund for six months or a year and they are all knowing experts.  I have seen the posts as well and find it amusing.  Many of these instant experts are very creative about fluffing out their limited experience and selling themselves as  more knowledgeable then they are, but I do believe that the experienced people see through them and have a good laugh.  The risk is to other newbies who think they are getting the right scoop and then repeat the inaccuracies.

I agree.  I'm here to learn.  No shame in it!  I'm a lifelong dog nut and I know a lot about dogs.  There is also a heck of a lot more that I don't know...but I want to.  When I was a kid my mom bought me old vet school textbooks and I picked our vet's brain every chance I got.  I read every dog book at the local library.  I hung out at the shelter.  I talked to trainers and K9 officers and breeders.  I LOVE DOGS.  But I have no experience with Schutzhund or protection work.  I've gone to many dog shows but I've never shown my own dog.  I'm not a vet.  What I know is far outweighed by what I don't know.  If I have personal experience with something then yes, I love to share what has worked for me in the hope that it will work for someone else, but I'm not going to go out and give secondhand advice.  I ask questions even when I know at least one correct answer already, just in case there's a better way that I hadn't heard of.  The risky thing for me or anyone here is determining whether advice/statements are trustworthy.

BEAUGSD...
Why  did you not answer on the thread that you started.... TO RECOMMEND OR NOT, OR..  The Thread...BREEDER THAT I WOULD RECOMMEND, but started new threads? Every thread that I have started,  you have an answer for. What are you trying to accomplish with this NEW POST?

I have not done SCH, but have worked with my dog at AKC events. My dog did quite well, but people on here make fun of AKC, so I say NOTHING! I DO NOT CLAIM to be an expert, and I DO NOT KNOW IT ALL!  So tell the world what you have accomplished. What SCH titles do you have to brag about? I have none, so I DO NOT BRAG! Do you have a SCH 1,2, or 3
on any of your dogs? In BLACK AND WHITE...on paper, what are your scores?  Most people who have a dog that can work, have a blog or video for people to see the dog work!  What is the name of your Kennel? Do you have a Web-Site? Are any of YOUR DOGS listed on the Pedigree Database so that everyone can see them, and what they have accomplished FROM YOU, as THEIR TRAINER, OR from the puppies that you have sold to people?

NO... I DO NOT KNOW IT ALL, in fact, I am a NOBODY in the DOGWORLD. I love my dogs, and I DO NOT have to live my life through my dogs in order to feel important, or say that I have done this or that, but in reality have done NOTHING!

P.S Where is THIS MISINFORMATION for NEW PEOPLE,  that is HARMFUL? This thread that you started is quite AMUSING, and STUPID! HAVE A PISSING CONTEST WITH YOURSELF!

Have a GOOD DAY!

Dawn,
NO one attacked you. I was merely stating a fact that if you  (general you) have not been there then don't comment good or bad.
Please get your undies out of a bunch and calm down....

You need not attack me since I have been doing this since 1973.... my record speaks for itself. I am actively training for a SchH title and will get it.

Take a deep breath. As I said in my original post....think BEFORE you post. There are people on this list who actually want to learn something (as we all do) and not see petty bickering on a personal level.

Wasn't it Thumper in Bambi who said: "if you can't say somethin' nice, don't say nothin' at all". Good advise.

You NEVER HAVE anything nice to say about anything! Go back to what you have posted, and READ THEM! YOU think before YOU POST! AND Take your own advice!

Pat....
Thank you for the clarification...HOWEVER, given the history, it is difficult not to take things personally.
Of course, I respect the fact that you have been in this business since 1973, and DID NOT intend to diminish any of your accomplishments, or achievements; and while I am a relative newcomer, I would ask that the same respect that I show, be given back. I suggest we end this petty bickering, and move forward!

Dawn
