The television show Kommissar Rex police series screened in Vienna featuring a cleaverly trained GSD in the mid 90's had two different dogs. The original dog was Santo vom Haus Zieglmayer

Purely out of interest, I am wondering if anyone knows who the second dog was in the series until around 2004??

  • There are the names of all the dogs that appeare in "Kommissar Rex". Santo von Haus not played, I think.
  •
  • Henry (Rex III; 2008–)
  • Rhett Buttler (Rex II; 2000-2004)
  • Reginald von Ravenhorst (Rex I; 1994-2000)

Hi Cricane,

They are ficticious names or screen names for the dogs playing Rex. Santo vom Haus Zieglemayer in the link I posted above is Reginald von Ravenhorst complete with a "ham roll" in his mouth in his pedigree photo. Screen name Rhett Buttler the second Rex is the one of interest to me.

It is a good show and has been screened in Australia for years with sub titles. The GSD's are trained by Teresa Miller of Animal Action in the USA.

Did anyone else notice the lovely pic of Santo Rex's mother and her birthday cake?
