Maybe they are hoping someone on this board who enjoys a working GSD will want her. People have to give up dogs sometimes.

Cynic that I am, it reminds me of the emails I get from some doctor who inherited a yorkie and a bulldog puppy and wants to give them away to someone who will pay the shipping or the vets bills or whatever.  Had someone book a puppy this week who was going to adopt a free GSD pup until he found the contact phone number was in Nigeria.  Free pups are one of the latest to sucker you in and con you into sending money.

Smells of scam to me.

Dog has a weird look about his face , anyway.

Usually something free is not free at all. No mention of a pedigree or any info.

Enough free dogs here in USA

Hey,

He does look kind of weird. There must be something wrong with him or there is more to it than we know. There is no way he would be for free if there isn't anything wrong with him. Plus, they are willing to ship to another country and he for free? They couldn't give him for free over there in germany? I'd be careful it could be one of them scammers from Nigeria that make you send them the shipping money and you'll never hear from them again. By the way is he a long coat? his ears sure have a lot of hair.

Is it the eyes that look weird YR . Or the yellow color behind his ears ? I think it is a pretty dog but really didn't look at the glazy look of the eyes .. If it's a scam maybe the dog is trying to warn people  , the dog don't want to go to doggy jail .LOL

I don't think this is a scam.  If you look at the history of the person posting the ad, they originally were asking some amount of money, then they came down in price, then they are offering it for free.

One of the ads asking for money (I think about $1200 - $1700) I saw at the top of the web page, I guess those are the paid ads, right?

ETA: Sorry, that was in Euros, not USD$.

Here's the first ad, from about a month ago:

Maybe this person simply has a reason they can no longer keep this dog?

Don’t be so cynical. A couple of months ago I ran an ad on this board. I was looking for a longcoat pet for a friend of mine. Long story short, I imported a showline dog from a very, very well known kennel. The dog cost me nothing but shipping. It’s a nice dog that was raised with a family and has great house manners. The prior owners have to move due to a new job.

Sometimes people just do the right thing.

It's eyes are set a little close, & it does appear to be a coated dog, but it needs a home. Surely the cost of shipping is not too dear a price to rehome this dog? Maybe I'm naive, but he/she kind of looks like a girl I worked with, named Diane. She looked a little funny too, but was a very sweet person. I hope someone gives this dog a good home. I wish I could! jh (On 2nd look, maybe not coated.....still looks like Diane, tho'!)
