I'm sure questions about vomiting have been asked before, but I don't think this case is associated with the food. For a few months now, my dog (2.5 yo) has been vomiting at a rate of two or three times a week. He vomits this yellowish green matter in two or three spots, then laps it up. This usually happens in early afternoons. He is fed after we eat dinner. He was on raw and now is on dry food. The food change did not seem to influence him in anyway. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Is he eating grass? Sounds like it

When was the last time the dog was wormed? Often this is because there is irritation in the gut from parasites, including round worms. There are other possibilities, but I will look for the answer to this question first.

Maybe he needs to be feed twice per day, the green matter maybe grass he has eaten while outside. Did a vet visit show that he does not have something in his stomach?
Always,

I have noticed that if my dogs go to long between meals they tend to vomit up bile. Your discription sounds the same. I feed twice a day, once about 9:am then again about 5:00pm, so they have a long haul until breakfast again. So just before bed (about 10:00pm) I give a small bit to eat and it has cured the problem.

Feed 2X per day. Sounds like bile.  Mine get "morning bones" around 4 am, then breakfast at 6 am, supper at 5pm and "bed time bones" at 10 pm.  Empty stomach for too long and they throw up the yellow bile.

Thank you, everyone. Yes, it is bile that is vomiting. No, is not eating grass. hodie, he takes the monthly heartworm prevention pill; nothing besides that. We have not gone to the vet yet because he is otherwise healthy. He did have worms when he was a puppy, but they were easily seen in the stool. His stool is normal now. And, no, I don't feed him Nutro. Sorry for the disappearing paragraphs.
