Ruger Guru
Nice pictures. I wish I could have made it out there....I will be there this coming weekend though. It is a fun group of people.

Seems it's progressing nicely, kudos for the team (you as a wingman and the dog). You guys are going places...

Thank you for the compliments! Jyl, you are right... we have an awesome group and everyone respects each other and has the best time. I honestly thought that all groups/clubs were like this, then I dug deeper into the dog world, and realized I was dead wrong. I am grateful for what we have, and would not have it any other way.

I love the muscle tone on your dog, congrats I love when people keep their dog in top nutch shape.

Very nice.  A good variety of breeds to, I think that makes it more interesting.  Looking forward to watching Ruger progress.

Yep, we have a wonderful group of people. Right now we have 8 handlers and 9 dogs. With a few people who come out on a semi-regular basis. WE have had training days with 14-15 dogs! To me one of the absolute coolest things is we have one 17 year old and one 11 year old. The 17 year old is desperatley trying to talk mom into letting her get a dog capable of doing sport work. The 11 year old has a 10 month old GSD that has some skills.

So to me as a person and a trainer, getting young people involved is just way too cool. They have all the enthusiasim and are complete open books to learning. It is awesome.

The other neat thing is the different breeds we have. WE have 4 GSD's 2 Pitt Bulls, one Pitt X Boxer cross, one Chow cross, and my lone Malinios. But to have such a diverse group of people, dogs, and individual goals is just a real neat thing.

And to top it off, everyone in our group is supportive of one another. There is no shit talking about other clubs, trainers, dogs, sport venues, etc, etc. I do not allow it and it will not be tolerated. We do not have a bunch of egos or personal agendas and money is not a factor in any way shape or form (other than figuring out how to pay for stuff) Nobody sells dogs, breeds dogs, sells equipment, or charges money to work someone's dogs (unless they are not a member), so there is no financial motivation for anyone. It is for the love of the dogs.

All in all, I have a great club started and am going to do my best to keep it that way. I am happier than I have been in years and  can't believe I was so close to hanging it up and quitting dog sport for good.

It is nice to have positive support from people on this board, and in the dog community as well. We are in the process of creating a websight, Myspace page, and other things to document and update our progress.

Thanks to those with kind words. It is appreciated

Way too cool GARD.

We appreciate all the help you have given us GARD....at least I know I sure do. It is a very fun group.  I have done alot of different types of training from AKC obedience and agility for years, tracking,  to training a personal protection dog, to narcotics and bomb training, I am a CGC evaluator, to Schutzhund. It is really nice to see all the different avenues that people are taking in this club. We all are learning from eachother and help each other, and that is what this sport is about. There is NO bickering and degrading people or their training. That is the one thing that I really love about this club.

It is really nice to see young people want to get involved in these sports. Without them this sport would die. I wish them the best of luck.
