Hi,

a question for more knowledgeable posters.

My pups sire has a listed hip rating of FCI B 1/2.

Could someone please tell me or point me in the right direction (a link to a translation of different hip scores) of what the FCI B 1/2 translates to in terms of an OFA hip rating.

Thank you in advance

I have seen B hips go OFA Good and OFA fair. Same with A2 from Germany

I am also curious about this. I have seen some conflicting info about the FCI hip ratings. One post stated that here there are only 1/2 ratings, so you are not really looking at the true score. The dog could actually have a rating of 1/1. Another post I saw sounded as though A and B ratings were the same as Excellent and Good with OFA, but OFA shows that B ratings are closer to that of Borderline or Fair.

Hey Vinegarjoe, how's your pup doing?

by B.Andersen on 07 April 2009 - 05:04

Well the main thing is that B hips are not dysplastic.

If you look at OFFA.org B1 is fair, and B2 is Borderline. I have a gorgeous Czech female with Severe Hip Dysplasia at 3, and she has a littermate rated B1/2. Would I buy a pup from the littermates current litter, Heck No!  People need to look not only at the dog being rated but at the parents and full siblings, plus half siblings also.

You need to know and research Czech pedigrees as well.
