Found out today that Friday will be my last day. We had about 30 guys 4 months ago and as of Monday our group will be down to 5 guys. Anyone else in the unemployment line with me?

Sorry to hear this. :( My husband worked for Chrysler for 10 years, he was laid off back in September... I think there are LOTS in line with you.. It's pretty sad. Best of luck.

It's rough here in Canada as well. I still have my job, but I work in accounting so we are always needed. But my spouse works in real estate and therefore not really working right now. It's tight.

No but business has been real slow for about a year so I put myself in school and will be seeking a second job in the next couple months. I'm not waiting for the bottom to fall. Been working for myself for 6 years, there is no unemployment option.

I wish, was planning to get laid off before my trip to europe, with hopes I will be able to stay few extra months but my employer let me know few days ago that if I am trying to get laid off I can keep dreaming about it shitttt ;(

I knew it was coming so it wasn't a surprise, I feel for the people who get no warning. My brother got laid off last week, he works for the same company I do. I'm not worried, things happen for a reason. I've been thinking about going to Tom Rose for the past 6 or 7 years, maybe now is the time!

I was laid of my good $70K job (with super benefits, bonuses, expense account) 2.5 years ago.
I am finally working again, doing the exact same job for another media company, for $10K, NO benefits, pitiful bonus program & only minimal expense reimbursement. One of the reasons I am not as visible here on PdB is that I am working long hours, trying like hell to carve myself a larger slice of the pie at work!
Almost eveyone I know is either un- or under-employed right now, more every day.
