A magnitude 6.3 earthquake has leveled many historic buildings, churches and homes in the historic college city of L'Aquila, 60 miles north of the capital Rome. Many people are dead and injured and the toll will likely rise. Our thoughts go out to our Italian friends during their time of need and grief.

The world is a mess any more .How much more can the humane spirit endure . Thoughts and well wishes to all that suffer . It makes ya just want to hug your dogs and be thankful for what we do have .

I have just seen many photos of the city and surrounding areas and I have no doubt that the death toll will rise much higher. The town of L'Aquilla, such a wonderful medieval city, is pretty much leveled.
