This is a freestanding picture of my 3 year old female.  Sometimes I think her topline looks fine, sometimes I look at pictures and her hips look too high to me.  Are they too high?  Or is something else off making it look that way?

(Please never mind her face.. she's got her stupid lip tucked under and I didn't know it until after I stopped taking pictures.  I promise her mouth is "normal" looking! )

She's nice looking for a working type girl, and that's a very nice free standing stack of her,

I like the angle of her shoulders, she has a nice front,  her feet are how they should be, facing straight  forward!

Thank you for sharing!

I am no expert on conformation, but I know my girl has a rump that is too high and I simply don't see that in your girl in this particular photograph. I like her topline personally. I think we're so used to seeing that showline topline that we forget what a non-extreme topline looks like! JMHO

Maybe it's her tummy tuck up that is giving me the illusion of her rump being higher.  I keep looking at it different ways and covering part of the photo and looking at one part at a time..  sometimes I think I see it and sometimes I don't.  Thank you so much for your thoughts!

If you compare her to other working line dogs, she has a low wither. This make the rear look high. Showline people aren't going to like her conformation, but personally, I see nothing wrong with it.

If you stack her with the outer hind leg more forward, the inner leg a bit further back, and get her to bend a bit more at the hocks, it will make her topline look better when you're showing her.

Here's a well-know working dog with a rather similar topline (Bandit). You can see the main difference is he has more of a wither. Otherwise, his topline is very level, too.

I love Bandit, I've looked at his pedigree a bunch of times.  He does share some similar lines with my girlie.  That you used him as an example really made me smile!  Thanks for the comments.   I wonder if I can get her to hold a better stack.. .

I think her topline is fine, it's all in the positioning...& that party picture is adorable, & tells me a lot more about her stable personality! She looks like a very nice girl1 jackie harris
